Looking for a decent MiG-3

Been away from FS for a while, but am now back and looking for a MiG-3. Am I dreaming, but wasn't there a discussion here quite a while back about some updated flight dynamics for this bird?

thickosehaskel has a nice selection of Mig-3s in the Archives. They are CFS2 models, but they work well in FS2004, look nice, and I have found that most of thicko's planes fly well in FS2004...a few need a bit of FDE tweaking, but most are usable from the get go. You will need to tweak the config file entries for the aircraft, adding in the lines for manufacture, type and variant...add some FS9 lights and such. Thicko produced a really nice selection of war birds that are quite enjoyable in FS9...lots of Russian stuff.

Didn't Captainsim do a Mig-3?

That would be a Yak-3. ; )

I'm not sure how many people are aware of the fact, but within the last few years there have actually been two Mig-3's restored to flying condition and flown, both in Russia, with one owned by Jerry Yagen which is now in Virginia Beach, Virginia, at the Military Aviation Museum. A third Mig-3 is also under resoration to fly in Russia as well. The first two completed, are powered by the American Allison engine, while the third has been delayed, because the owner wants it powered by the original Russian powerplant.

I've always liked the Mig-3 styling - the positioning of the canopy/cockpit, makes it look like a 30's racer.

I agree with OBIO, Thickosehaskel's aircraft are very good and work well in FS9. He also did the I-200 prototype and MiG-1.

Thicko has done most of the WW2 Russian fighter and bomber types, and they are all good in fs9. Morton has done repaints and updated panels on some of them.
