Looking for a good Mossie

Anyone have a recommendation for a good Mossie -- freeware or payware? I've downloaded the Just Flight demo, but of course ya can't actually check out the panels in this restricted mode. The included video looks awesome but it is a video, not the real thing.

The JF Mossie is my favorite. Lots of models and textues.

Ignore the 2D and just fly with the VC. Everything is clickable, and it has tons of animations.

Thanks much for the advice. The Just Flight looks great and I'm quickly weaning myself off 2D panels. Just coming off almost ten years stuck on fs2002 (gear limitations) I figured VC was much overrated. Sure didn't take me long to have a complete change of heart once I had a "real" 'puter to play with.:salute:

The only Mossie that I use is the Bruno one. For a CFS2 model, it is superbly well done. I can't remember who did the FS9 FDE set for it, but it really brings the Mossie to life!

not sure where H has disappeared to, though he'd be in here like a shot, like me the mere mention of 'mosquito' sets the pulse racing... friends know this so in a museum in the past one spotted the small insect one and shouted "Smoothie! Mosquito", i ran over only to find an insect...

H get back here, you know what happens when you go AWOL :icon_lol:

I downloaded the Just Flight Mossie demo but when I tried to run it on my system I got the introductory video then an error message saying I didn't have MS FS loaded despite directing right into my FS folder.

Bruno's Mossie is terrific. I hope someone comes up with a 418 Squadron RCAF skin for it someday.

i'll take a look, i have a paintkit made for the Mossie, use it regularly, had plans to to TH ((O)) Z when i finished my kit but that never materialised, might do it now...

Neil....

How does this strike you?.... nearly done, only really the canopy to fix painted to represent an FB.Mk.IV of 418 (City of Edmonton) Squadron, Flown by the legendary Russ Bannock, noseart; Hairless Joe

I know H mentioned in a thread way before Christmas he was going across the big pond back to the UK for a visit I think but hav'nt seen anything else since . I think he skipped out on his whopping virtual bar bill since everyone here puts everything on Henry's tab .:guinness:;)

ok guys just an update..... mossie is nearly done, canopy is coloured correctly now, just refining a propdisc for it then i'll upload it :salute:

H... avoiding a tab.... thats not like him, tell ya what we'll stick them on my tab for now :icon_lol:

ok guys just uploading this now, still working on the propdisc. remember this is an NFII painted as an FB.MkIV... treat her nicely, i'm planning more mossies, maybe even a fictional racer and a few foreign birds ;)

EDIT: Uploaded! :wavey:

Nice paint job on the Mossie (and the F7F-3N by the way)...

The racer don't need to be fictional... there were at least two Mossies entered (that I've seen photos of) in the postwar Cleveland Air Races. IIRC, one of them was named 'Miss Marta'... Unfortunately I've never stumbled upon any color shots of them...

only shots i'm finding are tiny black and white images, might have to do a series of racers just so the old girls can race about again, maybe even do a few 'reno-style' no polished metal of course, unless i feel like drawing a load of fictional panel lines on of course.... :icon_lol: get your names and colours in now :icon_lol:

:wavey:Very nice Mossie Smoothie, Bravo! It will be a regular visitor on the Sedes LGSD circuit. I've half finished my version for Sedes, If you or anyone else would be interested in a copy, I 'd likely be motivated to finish the bugger and pass it on! (the standard fs2004 version is a dismal grass strip).

you tried Hellenic Scenery Project Nigel? adds a load of strips, the Rion-Antirion Bridge and a fair few other bits.... just took mossie for a blast along the Corinthian Canal and landed at Megara, i'll never make it back to my paint hangar on Rhodes before nightfall, especially as i have more paints to do....

back to work....
