Looking for easy scenery creator

There was a post from a gentleman talking about an easy FSX scenery creator. I thought it might have been FSTramp but of course trying to search for that woudlnt work as it's "too common" for the search engine.

So I ask, which freeware scenery/BGL editor/creator is there?

Thanks!
Jeff

freeware alternative to placing objects is Whisplacer, has a main Ui and a sim connect so you can see where you just placed the darn thing :icon_lol:

Actually, FSTramp is the FSX version of the very popular FSNavigator for FS9.

Thanks for the replies. After further thought and searching, I did realize that FSTramp was not the program I thought it was.

And again, I went back through my own computer and saw that I had ADE installed. I've since tweaked a trial airport but when I went to convert to BGL, I found out I couldnt add the path to a compiler. Apparently I'm missing the FSX SDK. WTF???

I know see why more people dont edit scenery. So I've got this AD2 file that I cant do anything with. Lovely.

But thank you for the help. I'll try and figure out the SDK compiler dance after a break.

i remember that dance, it involves plenty of palm to face interaction, stamping off when you realise your stupidity for over-complicating things, some swearing and hand gestures and all culminates in a celebratory cheer when it works... it's kinda like the FS Haka.... :icon_lol:

Got the SDKs installed and the sceneries compiled into BGLs. However when used in game, the default scenery still shows up with the new. I installed directly to the Addon Scenery/Scnery folder. Now I'll simply try and add it as normal scenery to see if being higher up, trumps the default.

Jeff, you have to add exclusion polygons in your scenery to make the default not appear, otherwise you get both. There are several types of exclusions in ADE depending on what you want to exclude.

Ahh, I see. Hmm, will try that on the next one for sure.

I did get it to work by adding it through my addon scenery. I stuck it in a folder labeled KAXS and added it to an interior scenery folder. Worked fine and no default.

I may actually upload it too, although I dont know for certain from which object libraries I installed from.

Thanks!
Jeff
