SOH ADMINISTRATIONPJ, I'm thinkin' Obio will come up on this thread to help out. He's done a lot of sound pack work. If you haven't tried it out already you may want to try Griffon_Sound.zip by Lawdog2360, it's here in the download archives.
Engine sounds that max out too early in the throttle range, or that don't reach the max rpm sound range...that is a problem I have encountered a few times.
To fix this issue, use AirEd to open the air file in question and find record 505 Engine CFS+ Piston Engine. Expand this record. Find the *Engine Power Sound Level? (HP) line. This line sets the horse power at which the max rpm sound files are called up.
If the sound pack high RPM sound is played before max power is reached, increasing the number in the *Engine Power Sound Level? (HP) will cause the upper RPM sounds to play later in the power band.
If the high RPM sound files do not get played at all (in those cases where full throttle still only gets the lower RPM sound files to play), decreasing the HP setting will cause the sim play the upper rpm sound files.
This can take several several trial and errors to get it right. Make sure to make a back up of the original air file before you start tweaking.
OBIO

Well done OBIO, hadn't come across that tip before.
That's cause I just made it up LOL! If I don't know the answer to a problem, I just make up an answer that is sufficiently complicated enough to keep people from trying to use it. Thus, people think I am really smart and have cognitive powers far superior to my actual IQ of 12. I learned that trick during my third year of 1st grade....say smart sounding things and people think I am smart. It worked! The next year I got moved to 2nd grade and only had to spend 2 years there.
OBIO

I thank the lord for your 30 year grade school education.![]()
