Looking for TBM Avenger.

On jeep carriers a cat was always used.The jeeps were slow and small. They had been designed to do two things. Help convoyes by sub hunting and giving aircover over the convoy in the Atlantic and to supply pilots and planes in the pacific to the main battle carriers.
 
Yep, I think 20 knots was about it for escort or Jeep carriers and the catapult was probably manditory. I think they were hydraulic units in WW II and probably left your eyeballs in the back of your head with they opened up the valve.
