I always buy a lotto tickett and cannot even win my dollar back, but my neighbor won $10,000 bucks on a scratch off ticket last night.
She really needs the money so I am glad I finally known someone who wone something.

I use to "donate" a dollar week when the Power Ball got above 100 million. I haven't done so in a while, however.

About 10 years ago my wife bought a few scratch tickets to put in the Xmas stockings. One of the ones she put in her own stocking paid out $5,000.

Back around Halloween my wife won $400 on a scratch ticket, that's her personal best, mine is $10. Never won anything on Lotto numbers. But yeah, it's good when somebody wins who can really use the money.

Years ago when it first came out here in Phoenix, I would win $20.00 often in the scratchers. When the price of Powerball goes up high, I try to make sure I get a Lotto ticket for it, but then I forget to check them later, lol... arrgh.
