Low FPS in spot view w/horizon

Used to get 17-35 fps all the time - now when the horizon is in view w/ spot view I get dragged down to the singles(even over open water clear sky's) - New to me - comp's been flying great for years?? No changes....other than Nimitz and aicarriers - Thanks Chris

need more info

any other recent addons like GEX UTX REX etc...any other freeware besides 'The Carrier' as it is now known as...?

have you looked at your FSX.cfg recently?

sometimes deleting it - then starting FSX up and letting it generate a new one - then going into it to make any adjustments (one at a time mind you) if you had any - will correct these kinds of hiccups

XP pro,Quad Q6600@2.4,ASUS P5N32-E SLI PLUS,3GB,GeForce 8800GTS.
REX,UTX,GEX - Sidewinder 2 - Actually runs good just shy of maxing all out(happy with 17-35fsp) - Done most of the tweaks - Had the .cfg file worked on by the guy's that you pay for along time ago(in a thread),tweaked nhancer as per a thread. Have not tweaked in awhile since I was happy with it. Started running slow in spot view with the horizon and I changed the .cfg texture bandwith multiplier to 10 as per a thread and had the best one hour flight in a long time with REX running active weather and now I am back too single digits with the horizon - tried lowering the settings one at a time, but that made it worse all around(fps) - Chris edit:Will do more testing to see what types of horizons have if any better fps...

OK - 1 - house is 1400 sf - bought a central air unit that will handle double if not triple that - I can drop my temp about 5 degrees in under 10 minutes:applause:.
I deselected all of REX and have the scenery and autogen to dense now - flew out of Hilo w/clouds(real time) and was getting 20-26+ on the ground and almost a solid 35(set for 35) in the air in all views...with the PBY + comp temp runs around 30-35c

Tried LaGuardia w/real time weather(rain) in the F-14D - 8-11 on the ground and 16-18 in the clouds - changed planes to the goose and got 30's in broken clouds...going to try same with REX on - Thanks

All seems back to what it was before:engel016: - Still going to figure out what was up with the fps hit - Thanks Chris

FSX can be a strange beast at times...

It might have been an app running in the background...Who knows..

Glad its back to speed though !

Thanks - also run that Alclarity?? program zapper thing and get 2-3 better fps - It does look like REX does a little number on my system - looking into that - Happy I can (play) with the Nimitz with some descent frame rates!

I may not post a lot, but I'm lurking around everyday, learning something(or buying) - Thanks to ALL!!
FSX,CFS3, and OFF
