Lufthansa Civilian Aircraft Tender & Catapult ship

virtually there
Hi, I am very interested in this ship, which was an earlier type and reworked freighter.

Back then, aircaft where not able to fly over the Atlantic non-stop (beside Zeppelins) and so Lufthansa established a postal route with Dornier WALs and two (later three) Catapult ships.

This is the best site with several first-class pics, I found:

Later, the ship painted grey and used by the AirForce. Note the last pic scuttled in a fjord with three Seaplanes still onboards.

The one, nearly overboard clearly has a roundel painted on the wings - I think, this is very interesting! So Far, I only read about such "mimikri" for the Arados of the Germann Raiders.

Very interesting.
Pics are very rare, but models are even harder to find.
There are a few 1:1250 Wiking models out there, which at least show close-to-original colors.

When the Luftwaffe took the ships over, they also operated smaller, own ones.

There is a cardmodel out there made by JSC for two these (FALKE / BUSSARD), both in 1:400 & 1:250
