Reportedly, this aircraft has already been recovered/removed in around late 2007/early 2008, along with six "Zero's", a "Val", and a number of "Pete" floatplanes (as was reported at the time by a few aivation magazines, and as featured in another Youtube-posted video of this recovery:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YKbV4sSPHvc). As with so many of the recoveries from this part of the world, many details remain a bit 'hush hush', as the circumstances surrounding the recoveries aren't always completely legal (depending on who you ask and who you deal with). Where the Betty is right now, is surely only known by a very select few.
Combat-vet razorback P-47D's, early and mid-model P-38's, P-40's, a Japanese Kate, a Japanese Dinah, Japanese Tony's, Japanese Judy's (one is currently being finished up at Planes of Fame), and more, have been recovered over the last 3 decades, many of which have been recovered just within the last decade - both legally and illegally. Many of these aircraft are currently in different states of restoration to airworthy condition, at restoration shops in the U.S., New Zealand, and Australia, for various owners.
