it doesn't matter what his motivations might be. at the end of the day, it's his car and he has every right to do with it as he pleases. it's the same as if it was a 1982 ford escort, or some gawdawful volare.
I can understand the love of the car. I owned a 1960 like the one pictured when I was 17-18. The girls loved it too. 
The one stolen was a 1967, not much different externally from the angle except the top of the door and window frames.

There was another incident a couple of years ago when a guy who had had his '65 Vette stolen in Nashville back in 1970 got a call from a detective in Scottsdale Az. that during the process of registering the car they had found it was stolen through the Insurance Institute's data base,he said it was a real shocker especially since the car had undergone a full restoration and was better than when it was stolen!

Chicago winter weather was never kind to the Austin Healeys. Or any other British sports cars. Within a few years massive corrosion and rust would appear along the fenders, rocker panels,...and doors. The undercarriages would begin to look like Swiss cheese.....
Can't disagree with that Brad. I have owned 3 AH's (a '60 Sprite, a '60 3000, and a '56 100-4) and my beef was always about Lucas electronics. But it is very hard to beat the lines of the AH 3000 with any car, then or today.

I've owned a few Brit bikes and a Triumph 2000 (Had some English Fords too, but I don't think they used Lucas as everything worked on them). The electrical end of things were a bit dodgy. Nothing like out riding your bike at night going about 60 and have the headlight suddenly go about as dim as a toaster heating element. I still like the old British stuff though.
I've always liked the look of the 'frog eyed' Sprite.

Milton,....I always liked the statement about Lucas electronics,.....they become know as the "Prince of Darkness."
