Manfred Jahn's C-47C-117D V2, is there another update?

Hi,

Manfred Jahn's C-47C-117D caught my eye today and I love the bird, I like whats been done with the slow startup and the modern cockpit. I noticed some problems with it, such as the cowl flaps have some odd model "bits" that should not be there, and the windows if opened from the cockpit do not appear as open position if viewed externally. Other than that it's a must have. Seek below.....

Interesting point. Note that the cowl flaps had an angled overlap so as to block the stream of air when fully opened. This has been replicated in the model but the angled sections do seem a bit dark. The texture patch for them is on texture 02, below the blue nacelle band, where you can see a yellowish square patch. If you lighten that the contrast should become less obvious.

As for the cockpit window, it's true, it doesn't open on the exterior model.

We may have a V3 when Jan's VVC is ready.
 
oh that's interesting, i was not aware of that bit. I'm glad to be aware of the model's cowl flaps. Hoping for that V3...........by the way dose anyone know of a basepack set of textures for this C47? I saw there was a MJ C-117 Basepak with some beautiful bare metal options for that aircraft but I feel the need to apply the same textures for this one. I cannot seem to find the C-117 by the same author of this C47. I am in-love with bare metal planes......
 
In the d/l Library here search for text "c-47" and files submitted by gman5250. This gets you three d/l files including a paintkit, a texture basepack, and a patch.

It worked :encouragement: yep, very nice plane this one, cannot believe the work and ability it was given! P.S the fix for the window not beeing able to be seen can be found in here! and some other ideas! I will let Manfred Jahn know two. Would love to also see the generator cart when we tell we need external power supply
