Map of Ed Wells (Falcon409) airports/airstrips

YoYo

SOH-CM-2023

Because I very like creativity of Falcon409 and small airports (more than big, boring aerodromes  ) and I like to plan flights between them I created for me map of Ed's production (P3D/FSX) to see better distribution of airports on map (to move between them easily).

I decided to share it (You can find also here picture and direct link to this Scenery on SOH and ICAO code).

(Thx Ed!) :very_drunk:

For sure, if Ed will do something new I'll add this new scenery here also.

Regards and enjoy!

Thanks Yo-Yo! I decided to go take a look at what I actually uploaded and what I have in my own scenery folders. Counted approx. 70 in the Warbirds Library and another 30 that I never uploaded for one reason or another. Going from New Jersey north to Maine is where the bulk of those 30 are placed and then the few I did last year in Alaska and the Bahamas. So roughly 100 small airport sceneries.

Thanks for doing the map!!

100? Wow! :biggrin-new:
Its good idea to check how it looks or works on P3Dv4 platform too (if the are very old ;) ).

I'm a big fan too and you missed a few on the map YoYo such as Montauk, Fisher Island, New Jersey Airports, New Jersey Airports v2.0, Pennsylvania Airports V1.10 etc...to name just a few.

Thank you very much Ed Wells for all the hard work that you have shared with us all over the years.

Hello Ed,
Just Id like to inform You that LM broke some of part your work in P3Dv5:

Example of James Tucker Perry County

They added new kind of buildings on many default airports. :dizzy:

I have a lot of Ed's beautiful airfields running in FSX, all looking great and without issues.
Buzzy's Field (ME89), seems to be the only exception so far. It seems to be missing a building texture for some reason.
Maybe another program somehow overwrote some of my default textures ? Don't know.

I haven't gone beyond P3D_V4.5. That's where my use of P3D has stopped. I see no reason to go any further with that Sim as I rarely use it any more, relying instead on a well stocked FSX/Accel. . .and a mild anticipation of what's to come (MS2020). My sceneries have worked well in V4.5, but I won't guarantee the same for future versions of P3D so be advised that if you run into problems with overwritten textures caused by the P3D update or something that Orbx has decided to change, your options are to ignore it (if it's minor) or delete the scenery altogether (if a major distraction).

YoYo, you appear to have another scenery file interfering with mine. Most likely something that Orbx placed in one of it's freeware airport updates via "Orbx Central". You will have to do a search through the Orbx folder in FSX (or P3D) for that ICAO code (M29) and delete whatever you find.

I didnt install free airports package of FTX yet. As I wrote, LM did update for v5 of many default airports with new buildings. I think here is a reason. Pity ....

No, has nothing to do with Orbx. Overall the same issue with FSX sceneries. It seems, that old excludes not working in V5 anymore. Perhaps V5 hotfix will do it better. Or ADE has also a new V5 version out...

Thomas

Can you try moving Ed's scenery to the top of the scenery library?

Also make sure ORBX insertion point is below all other addon airports. I had the same problem with some of my sceneries and this solved it.

I was just reading about this issue in the ADE support forum. It's a V5 thing.

Dimus, they are on top of the list. Here its FSX corner so I opened request in P3D corner, for FSX it works well.

Man, thats great. Really appreciate the time it took to make that map. I especially love Eds airports in north georgia, east TN, and NC. Thats a favorite area for me to fly in.

Ed, I solved near 50% of issues in Prepar3Dv5 on Your airfields, the next 50% soon.
Do You have to plan update it for new simulator? Or if not can I publish this package (only bgl with new exclusion) for P3Dv5 SoH users?
