Mar Sansapor 24 and Mar Middleburg 1 Question

Hi DD,

These green squares usually indicate that the contents of your CFS2/texture & CFS2/SECENDB/WORLD/TEXTURE folders don't match.

Looking at the photo, more specifically I'd guess that your vshoresu.bmp is different, or possibly a ground texture call for a landclass texture that doesn't match.

Either way the game can't decide which one to display, & defaults to the green/ brown/ blue squares.

Hope this helps.

Thanks UncleTgt,
Yes, it does.
I was looking at bgl files not bmps. I tried deleting filelist.dat files, moving bgls for that airfield and nothing worked.
Now, I will go into the texture folders instead of the scenery folders and see if I can determine where the conflicts are.

I have done everything I know to do.
I have changed DEI's from the original to the 09 set with uninstalls of the older versions.
I have switched to Richard's mesh.
I have turned CFS2 Pacific Coasts on and off.
I have used the new coast lines.
I have uninstalled reinstalled several alternatives and still no joy.
I have installed and uninstalled the Pacific flattens.

It is these 2 airbases only. Every other airbase in the Pacific is exactly as it should be.

Well, whatever it is, it has to be something simple. Devildog73, just out of curiosity, can you post a top-down view of the location?

Thanks,
MR

Have you tried to raise or lower the order for that part of the library. it could be just the order. one of them has to be on top. its worked for me in the past.

Hi again DD,

Extensive list, but you didn't mention you had checked the 2 texture folder contents matched.

Let's try a straight copy & paste.

First, create a backup copy of everything in your CFS2/Texture folder.
Next, navigate to your CFS2/ SCENEDB/WORLD/TEXTURE folder.
Select everything in it. Copy
Navigate back to the CFS2/TEXTURE folder paste. Let it overwrite existing bmps.

Now you are sure your contents in both folders matches.

Relaunch CFS2 & check the airbases out.

If you still have conflicts, it's probably something unique to those two airbases, but I don't recall anything special (texture wise). Maybe MR can advise.

Hope this helps.

Hiya Devildog73,

Everything inputted by UT and BH23 so far seems right on the money! Thanks guys!

However, let me see if I can contribute anything constructive- no guarantees!

In order for the DEI Sansapor-Middleburg 2009 scenery to work the following 5 ground-building bgls must be present:

In the MR DEI Scenery folder (all dated 2009):
sansapor_land_3.bgl
sansapor_lc.bgl
sansapor_polys_3.bgl
sansapor_polys_8.bgl

In the main CFS2 Scenery folder
(dated 2006):
wm_mar-middleburg_3.bgl

Also present in the MR DEI Scenery folder should be 2 airfield-building bgls (date 2009):
DEI_Middleburg_GSL.BGL
DEI_Sansapor_GSL.BGL

There should be no other bgls that contain the name middleburg or sansapor.

MR

PS For reasons I won't go into, the location is a very confusing one- even for me! ;^)

Okay D......

I followed both sets of advice.
Found an errant 0_mar-Middleburg_xcld and lc and wm middleburgs.
Deleted them and copied my world\texture folder into main CFS2 Texture.

That cured the issues at Sansapor.

But, it left me with this for Middleburg.

Hiya DD. I think maybe I wasn't as clear as I should have been in my ealier post. When I wrote "There should be no other bgls that contain the name middleburg or sansapor" I should have made it clear that I was talking about bgl files only.

The problem here is that the ground texture for Middleburg Island has been deleted or somehow "misplaced": renamed, moved, containing folder accidentally renamed- whatever. It is present in your original screenshot. Now it seems to be gone. The file you want is named middleburgwa.bmp and it belongs in your MR Dutch East Indies "texture" folder.

Attached is a zipped up copy if you need it.

Way to hang in there!

MR

MR,
I got it now. It is all looking excellent now, as usual for your scenery.
Thanks again.

Looking forward to the new stuff for Rhumba's mesh.

It will keep me busy rewriting all of my Pacific missions.........

Have a very wonderful and Merry Christmas!
