Marketplace closed (for me that is..)

For anyone that doesn't have it already, the official forum is at https://forums.flightsimulator.com/ - there are people there in close contact with the dev's and have a decent amount of knowledge regarding the inner workings of the sim. I know a little, but nowhere near what I knew about FS9.

Well, not this particular one, but i know i'm certainly not alone here with my annoying MP problem.. Thanks Ralph ! :cool:

Edit: Uh-Oh..... been there, done that, got the T-shirt.... but no solution.. I tried everything they come up with there already a day or two ago but nothing helped. The only thing that changed is that " Another purchase is running " went away and doesn't show anymore when i restart MSFS/MP. I can click on dowload/buy at MP but here comes "Purchase Pending" again and stays there for ever and ever...

Jan, you might want to check what the purchase actually was and if there is enough money in your steam wallet. Ralf is right, marketplace purchases are done via Steam and Steam has a wallet that needs to have sufficient funds in it.

Thanks Jan, but i bought every man and his dog via MP/Steam during the last 4 years, never a problemo whatsoevero. This annoying problem happend about a week ago when i tried to buy a bundle DC-3 liveries for $1.99. I'm sure no sufficient funds was not the problem... ;-) ( i pay for each purchase from MP/Steam via PayPal/my bank. I can assure you that my purchase of the forthcoming A2A native MSFS Lockheed L-749 Constellation for $89,- will go as smooth as a baby's bottom (just kidding, about the forthcoming A2A L-749 that is (although you never know...;-), NOT about the $89,- payment, never a problemo :teapot: )

Thanks Denny ! The thing is though : when i go to Flightsimulator.com there is no "Support" on the top of the page to see....

I see this at the top of the page from left to right : InsiderHome Media FAQ Community PartnerProgram Store

that's it, no Support ......

However.... i've been there a couple times of course and i DID find that "Submit a Request" on the FAQ. I'll wait for the email i just sent, see if that will solve anything first..

Ah, they are inconsistent on the home page. In their current design, support is labeled “FAQ” on the main Flightsimulator.com page, and “Support” on the forums.flightsimulator.com page. As a content designer who used to work on Xbox.com, I have opinions about this. :)

Anyway, glad you got through to them!

You can say that again. Like a bolt out of the blue. Still think of it as some trouble on the side. Not that important, just annoying. I'd like that Westland Scout/Wasp, did a 1/48 diorama with it a million moons ago. Just nostalgia (afraid that might be usually the case ;-)..

But thanks for trying to help me, Jan. Much appreciated, as always. :encouragement:

Thanks Denny ! I thought i was close to have the problem solved with the givin suggestions there but non of 'em made any difference. The good thing is i learned a thing or two ! :cool:
 
Yeah, I'm pretty sure this is a pipe on their end that has to be unclogged. When I had the issue, it took a couple of back-and-forth emails with the support team but after a couple of days I was good and I luckily haven't had a similar issue since.

Downloading the Scout/Wasp from Marketplace as i type this... ;-) Pheww!!! Some excersize this turned out to be ! Want to thank you all very much again for trying to help me out of this misery !

I can't tell how many times i've read about MSFS problems that didn't concern me because i run the Steam version. Sorry to say that sometimes i felt a bit smug about that... :redface-new: (told you, should've bought the Steam version.. ). This time though it was the other way round because that irritating Marketplace problem had nothing to do with MSFS or Marketplace but was purely Steam related !

Something or someone (not me ! ;-) had turned off the 'Steam Overlay While In Game' option. I.e. logically i couldn't buy anything because for me the shop was closed... I followed someone's suggestion to call Steam support instead of MSFS/MP support. That did the trick. Steam support also told me that, quote " Overlay issues are typically caused by third-party software preventing the overlay from activating or incorrect settings in Steam" unquote.

So a good lesson learned. I know what to do next time this'll happen. In the mean time the Scout/Wasp arrived in my hangar. I think it looks fantastic inside and out !
