MASH 4077 scenery

Looking good RD! I have the ground almost done, will finish it and send you a link tomorrow. It is based off the camp layout from the website posted earlier and should be big enough for mall objects and then some.

I shall look forward to hearing from you. I'm planning on using that same camp layout for object type and placement. Maybe in the not too distant future, we can all meet at the "Officer's Club" for a beer after a long day of hauling in patients.

RD

UPDATE: I just sent all the objects that I've made, so far, to the person who has volunteered to "optimize" the textures. I also changed the color of the tent fabric. I think this looks more like the ones in the reference.

I placed the objects at a test strip just to get an idea of how they would look. Here's a screen shot. Sorta hard to make out with all the green grass around. The objects will look a lot better with a dirt background.

RD

OK...I've finished the objects. Here's the latrine and officer's club. The rest of the scenery objects will be default.

RD

OK, so does the shower tent come equipped with a button command that causes all four sides to fall flat when Hotlips is taking her shower? And if so, does it come with an anatomically correct Hotlips taking the shower?

Cheers,

Ken

NO and NO. Sorry:icon34:

RD, good work so far,

you might want to check the red crosses on the tents, they're normally surrounded by white to make an inverse of the Swiss flag. I don't know how they were in the actual show, but they look like the English flag as shown. If the red did run to the edges in the show version, then keeping the format as a square rather than a rectangle may help, you may already have that and the perspective creates that illusion, if so I'll be quiet now. :salute:

Allan, I appreciate your observations. The markings on the hospital building are based upon my reference material.

I'm attaching another screen shot. This one shows the sign leading into the camp. This screen shot gives a fairly decent picture of how the objects will be laid out in the final camp which will be located somewhere in South Korea; not, South Georgia.

Whoa!!! Randy, is the 5'o clock Charlie's plane I see to the left? What will become of all this once you've completed it?
Looks nice so far. :applause:

Once we, the others who are helping with various aspects of this scenery and I, finish it; we plan to release it:running: here at the Outhouse. It is still very much a work in progress. Anyone looking forward to it's release needs to be patient and remember that the others are not retired like me. They have jobs and other obligations.

I've got to quit making objects, though, or the Frame Rate Police:icon_lol: will be knocking on my door. Hopefully this is the last of the custom built objects.
Couldn't have a MASH scenery without the sign in front of the "Swamp."

MASH Scenery is still a WIP..

...Here's a screen shot of someone returning from Rosie's Bar.:icon29::icon29: This was taken at the camp's temporary location somewhere in South Georgia.

Thanks to TuFun for the HU on Gary Burns' jeep.:salute:

That jeep is a natural for your MASH gig. :icon_lol:

Are you guys going to base it in California? Or are you going to put in Korea? maybe an option for both? Looking great!

I'm not sure where he is planning on putting it.....
Me and a couple of friends flew 3 vintage 47s into the site of the series 4 years ago.....All 3 choppers were done in M.A.S.H markings.....
Surprised a few people who were visiting the site of the show.....
Being their you could almost see the whole camp, as you looked around....Seeing where the SWAMP was, seeing the mileage sign post and left behind props.....

My plans are for all the scenery objects to show up somehwere in South Korea. The actual location has not been decided yet. Right now the camp is located in South Georgia on my computer while I continue to work on the objects and their placement.

Now that I have the coordinates for the MASH set location, I may just do one for that location as well.

Stay tuned.

That would be great! Trucker17, that had to be an experience! Especially for the people watching you come in that didn't know you were coming in!

Hers's an idea

Here is an idea that TUFUN could take advantage of - Once the M*A*S*H scenery is completed, Ted could make one of his videos with the intro theme of the show ( copyright issues?)
and then roll some credits like the real show does with Randy, TUFUN, and whom ever else had anything to do with it. He could start with a M*A*S*H bell 47 flying in for a landing and then
if animation were possible, some vehicles going to the LZ to retrieve the wounded. Too bad Potter and Hot Lips couldn't be animated to appear on the scene. Orbx somehow manages
to have a few animated figures here and there. Anyway...just a thought. I know, I know it's the cottin' pickin' frame rates, yes?

Yeah the look on their faces was priceless....Being on the old set then hearing the engines of the choppers, then seeing them come around the canyon into the helo pad area, Here are a couple of the helos we took out their....

These were taken 2 days before the flight...and just after an airshow where they were on display
