MaskRider DEI 090912 Ready for Downloading

Ok Let me see what's up.

And yep, it does have a great history. Whatever pack I first released it in- The Pacific Air Ferry Pack I think- included a blurb about each of the airfields- including that part about Bounty mutineers ending up at Norfolk Is. Also, in the first or second tree pack that Lindsay Watt created he included Norfolk Pines. Pretty cool place. Unfortunately, I've only been there in my mind. :frown:

Let me see if I can post a little zip containing all necessary files for Norfolk.

Here you go. I didn't include another GSL file or any readme. The folder names are pretty self explanatory.

BTW, the files are in my Australia scenery pack (downloadable from my website)- not the Micronesia pack (also downloadable from my website)- sorry about my confusion,

Chris

Thanks very much Chris. My Australia pack must be an older version which doesn't include Norfolk.

Where can I get the Pacific Air Ferry Pack? I can't see it on your website or on sim-outhouse.

Hey Kevin, you pesky little barnacle!;)

I can see where this is going. I'm gonna need to get myself organized and split the web site into Regular and Rhumba CFS2 versions! :d

The Pacific Air Ferry was only released as a link in a post. That long ago post- Spring 2006 sometime- was also the location of the historical blurb about each of the airfields. That post was lost in a subsequent SOH crash. Since then I broke the PAF pack into its component parts- Australia and Micronesia- and included the affected airfields into those two packs- and again only made them available at my web site as again SOH was (God love Ickie!) experiencing melt down problems at the time! :bump:

However- I have located the original PAF pack- all of the airfields included therein should look fine with the Rhumba Mesh/Masks.

Get it below

Chris

BTW, if anyone would like to put together historical summaries of MR airfields I would greatly appreciate it. I would include them in the zips and post them at the website. I am aware of the general histories of each airfield though not in excruciating detail- like the dates and missions flown from and against the airfields and by what units!;)

When I first started making airfields I would cull thru the online Unit histories- the day to day diaries- just to find the names of airfields. Then I would go find the locations on the maps and try to find more about them in other online sources. The online pickings were pretty thin back in those days- Pacific Wrecks was a reall treasure trove- but still nothing like it is now. GoogleEarth has really been a Godsend.

Hi Chris, I went to your news site and downloaded everything you suggested. I could not find where to download the new NEI airfields 909012 from. I found you old NEI[may 2008] scenery on your down load site. Are your new airfields here at SOH?Or going to be here at SOH?

Thanks again Chris - I won't annoy you anymore and get back to flying around your new bases. Norfolk looks great.

Hehe! Seriously, please realize that I was just kidding with the "pesky barnacle" remark.:d

Actually feedback likes yours is what I want. It keeps me organized and on my toes!

Thank you Chris. I got it. For some reason my screne resolution got set at 800x600 and the news section of your logo was choped off.I could not go there. Thanks again.

Maskrider, i had no idea you hailed from Alpine! I grew up in San Diego and Santa Barbara and have family scattered all over the back country including a cousin Jeff who was Postmaster in Santa Ysabel and his dad drove the last stage coach to Ramona. Salute

I think i am going to just go with Rhumba and hope you or others get around to restoring all the default places that we will miss :) thanks so much for what you do for us all.

Not a problem Blondi. I am not much a web site builder so I just build to what I see on my screen which is set at 1920X1080. I forget that many folks might not be seeing what I see.
Chris

MR, installed it yesterday and flew into the area doing touch and goes.

WOW! Excellent work!

THANK YOU VERY MUCH!

Hi Chris, I have a new install with Rhumbas mesh,Watermasks, and Paxtex1 installed so far. I understand what Paxtex4 is [swap files for places other than the pacific] however paxtex5 I'm not sure if I should install it.It is the coral set. How do you know whether the area you are flying in should have the Coral look differant? addmitidly the coral set looks more exotic but having flown the Pacific 4 times I know it all does not look like this close to shore.Whats your recomendation for Paxtex5?

You know what Blondi? I only have 1 thru 3 installed. :d

4 and 5 are strictly up to you.

Chris

I got it installed, just don't know how to do screen shots.:isadizzy:

I am computer challenged, even though that is what I do for good ole Uncle Sam with personnel databases. Totally different.

I am even unable to do the dyn files on my mission building, even though others have tried to teach me. Some kind of mental block, or too much Merlot and Chardonay to actully do it right................

My standard screen shot procedure is very rudimentary and goes something like this:

1. Set up the shot
2. Click "Print/SysRq" key (automatically copys image to clipboard)
3. Open PaintShopPro (any adequate image manipulating application will do).
4. Paste as new image
5. Manipulate as desired- I just reduce the size and sharpen.
6. Save
7. Attach

Doesn't matter. The SOH software will adjust it to a default maximum size.

I just reduce it because Its doesn't need to be a large as my screen- plus I save them for myself, too- for other uses.

To be specific: my shots come off the screen at 1920X1080 (26.7inX15in). I reduce that to 1224X688 (17inX9.55in).

Cheers,
Chris

Nice Job Chris !
