MaskRider's Formosa airfields in GSL released!

Chris,

Nope...don't cool your effort on my account, please. I'm going back through my installs right now to check for any problems, because I know the quality of your work well, especially having reinstalled the Pacific from scratch. I'm determined to find where these files reside.

Something must be rotten in Whitman, not California.

Thanks again for these, they are awesome. Please let me sort this out on my end. :encouragement:

Tell ya what, lets try this. Put the bgls for Kiirun and I-Lan aside in a separate folder and then fire up the sim and see if the offending objects are still there.

Also, here are the two bgls I currently have loaded in my game. They also match time and date with the bgls included with the new pack.

Hi Rami,

There is information stored in CFS2\INDEX files. Try moving these to a new location (save just in case), so CFS2 has none of these in the root folder.
Delete all of the file list .dat files.
Restart the sim and let it rebuild these files, new.

Sometimes they'll become corrupt, especially after mass injections of new files.

Just installed the latest version. This is I-Lan.

I thinks me found the issue...let me check in Mission Builder. If I'm right, it's not in the package, it's Meridian-based, and I'm a schmuck, or just a fool with a bad memory.

Rami, I was thinking that maybe with the work you have been doing with DD73, that perhaps some extra scenery had been added to your I-Lan and Kiirun airfields- maybe? Maybe a micselaneous scenery file file that got added into the mix somewhere. Totally unrelated to anything to do with MR scenery?

Just trying to cover all the "bases", no pun intended

Chris,

That's where I'm going with it. I'm checking that in Mission Builder as we speak. If this holds up, it was on the user end. :banghead:

Dave,

That sure looks nice with the stock rivers and roads loaded up. Makes me want to reinstall my stock version of CFS2. However, I think I will need to get a new computer first.

MaskRider,

Yeup...it was Meridian add-ons, all right. Now, I'll have to make one of these:

No way Andrew. I really appreciate the fact that you took the trouble to have a good close look at it. I totally understand how these things happens. No mea culpas required.

I would love to enjoy the video you posted but, alas, I can't.

Why, you ask? Well, I'll tell ya.

A couple of weeks ago, one of the hinges (left hand) on my (cheap-a__ed :a1451:) HP laptop broke and took the sound as well as the laptop monitor-video along with it

I didn't drop it or anything like that. It just started binding up on me and then finally when opening it for the last time, something gave and the damage was done.

And no, I didn't brace myself against the back of my desk chair and push it open with my feet. I just open it and it gave way. ;^)

Anyhow, lucky for me, I still have my big old Samsung monitor left over from my old XP rig. I was using it as a second monitor for flight simming purposes. It is still working via the VGA port. So I have video but, alas, no sound.

I'm am still in business but need to start taking serious steps toward getting a new computer.

Find attached images I made of what my current set-up looks like. The first image shows the hinge area. The second shows my current set up. If I needed to evacuate for a another fire I would need to take the d_mned computer out of here with the lid open!

Anyway, like I said. thanks again for taking the time tom take a good look at the new scenery. I appreciate it. Sorry if I got a bit frustrated- and sounded like it.

Cheers,
Chris

Chris,

The tower of power...the actual tower and printer are below the keyboard.

Nice looking set-up Rami. I miss my tower. Got to get a new one.

BTW, what kind of laptop is that and what kind of "main-frame" do you use? OS? Are they both off the shelf or custom?

Cheers,
Chris

I don't run Mission Builder on my desktop; for some reason it is painfully slow, although missions load quicker and I have better frame rates with my quad core. I do all of my MB work on my laptop. :dizzy:

Its always something, eh?.

Putting aside having a poorly-engineered POC case and hinge, my HP is actually a pretty respectable simming computer. It does a respectable job running both FS9 and CFS2.

I am definitely in the market for another full blown tower-based desktop, along with a decently hinged laptop for travel purposes.

However, no more HPs. Can't believe that one of the hinges broke.

I googled on this binding/breaking hinge issue and found several very long, years long, threads on HP's own support website dealing with it.

HP moderators did nothing but give canned-spam, "I have brought your concerns to the attention of our technical support staff and they will soon be contacting you WRT this issue....", answers to the questions and never addressed it or came up with any solutions.

Anyway,. Enough griping. Onward and upwards!

Thanks Chris! This is a much needed update. :applause: I am on a trip to a family reunion and finding this is a most pleasant surprise. Maybe, perhaps, possibly the Philippines in GSL will be next? :wiggle:

You read my mind SW. I was thinking the same thing. I scoped out the Japanese Territorial Islands but there is an awful lot of new Japanese scenery, including my own, that conflicts with many of the locations in that old MR Package.

The Philippines, on the other hand, is still pretty much untouched.

Have fun at the reunion!

Chris
