He was credited with seven in this one engagement with a large flight of Stukas attacking a convoy of 4 destroyers and a cruiser.

The Stuka abruptly and uncontrollably pitched downward and I was instantly looking broadside at a nearly vertical Stuka directly in front of me. I was already committed to passing underneath him, so I intuitively jammed the control yoke forward as hard as I could. I heard and felt a large thump as I went past him. Looking back, I saw a falling object that I at first feared was my left tail. But the tail was still in place.

I was flying this mission again last night, and like Maj. Leverette I managed to get a bit too close to one as he was going down and nicked a wingtip. Unlike the real mission I only made it back as far as Crete before I had to bail out,

but I had 11 kills... :d

Morn Guys

I will try to uplaod both MajMagees's excellent P-38 and the mission this week, if not sooner. My record is only six shot down :kilroy:; but one was with both engines stopped and on a glide towards the British Cruiser :icon_lol:. Not bad for a novice!!
