MAW Problems

Hi all,

I used to have CFS3 MAW installed but a computer crash destroyed it, and corrupted the installation files I had saved. Really miss it.

I've downloaded the whole lot again from the Aussie link at SOH, but I've hit a problem. First part of the install goes fine, but about 3% into the second stage I get an installation failed message with the following:

"the following file is unreadable or corrupt: "aircraft\DR_BF110E_G4_5z76\texture\Hires\DR_BF110E_G4_5z76_t.dd_"

I've tried re-downloading but keep hitting the same problem.

Anyone know a way around this? Or does anyone know an alternative download site or other way to get a fresh copy of MAW?

Any help appreciated.

Testerchild, This link is the only link that I know of for the MAW expansion http://www.sim-outhouse.com/sohforums/showthread.php?t=34077
There has been a thread about this before but I do not know what was done to fix the problem.
There will be someone to help you.
Sorry I could not help more.

Bobby,
You can try unistalling every thing to do with Maw off your HD. Then dowenload the MAW instellers again. Make sure you delete the bad installer of MAW off your HD.
Clean your HD with what tools you have. Then reinstall MAW. This should work.
FAFL342Pascal is right you have a bad installer of MAW. Do not over wright the bad installer! Take it off your HD.
Hope this helps.

I have had this problem before reinstalling ETO from the Aussie site (nothing wrong with the site)

You might want to try to download the files later at night in your area.

If you have more than one computer connected to the INTERNET, make sure no one else is on line surfing the INTERNET as this this might interfere with your download.
And make sure that that while you are downloading files that you don't have any other activity running on your computer that might interfere with your download.

But make sure you have your previous install of MAW cleaned out of your computer before you try a reinstall, Deleting the correct folders , not sure how to do this with MAW , but sure some one will jump in here and tell you how if you need help.

And one other thing you might want to try is to create a new folder on your desk top to down load the files to from the Aussie site if all else fails.

To All who replied,

Many, many thanks! It WAS a download problem. I previously downloaded all the files at the same time instead of one by one. When I did them separately and looked at the logs I had to re-download half of them, sometimes twice before they were all OK. After that MAW installed fine.

I've just done a successful flight around Malta and got down safely, so it seems it AOK.

Now to explore it all again...

Cheers Everyone, I knew it was due to corrupt files, but I didn't know that could be caused by a download problem.

Thanks again!
