I thought I heard :gossip: somewhere that FSX can send ATC voice only (no engine or any other sound) through a USB port if you have the headset setup through a USB port?

If you can how is it done and can you use this adaptor:

Koss USBDongle Adapter

I believe that as long as the headset shows up as its own audio device in the sound control panel, you can separate the ATC and other sounds. Can't say for sure, but it looks as though that might work.

It does work...But I do not know how.....

Hang out...Others do use it , and hopefully will see this thread.....

If you connect a headset to a USB port (I have a Microsoft USB headset - it was cheap!), then you can go into audio settings in Windows and allocate "voice" to the USB device and "sound" to the main soundcard. It's that simple.

I used it with VATSIM successfully and it meant that even with my abysmal hearing, I could understand most controllers!

In fsx audio settings, set the ATC to the usb headset, and leave othersounds through your sound card. Note when you first plug it in XP my set it as the default audio device,so if you loose you normal sounds thats why.

I had to do the headset thing too, I had issues hearing the guides in the mission and the usb headset solved it all and of course have the TrackIR4 mounted on it.
