Maybe a dumb question...

Here's one that's been nagging me for some time... If, in creating missions/campaigns in MB, you pre-assign formations X,Y,Z ect.. as Rookie, Veteran or Ace, what exactly does selecting Easy, Medium or Hard Campaign Difficulty do when you start to fly a campaign? :banghead:
 
Good question, I've always wondered this same thing myself.

P.S. The same is shown for single missions as well. The included help file states:

"The Enemy Skill Level setting (Easy, Medium, Hard, Random) affects the skill level of your enemies, as well as the amount of damage they can do to you. If you choose Hard, you’ll meet more formidable enemy aircraft than you would in an Easy mission, and they’ll be much more adept at shooting you down. If you're new to Combat Flight Simulator, try the Easy level first, then move up as you gain experience."

...which of course, doesn't make sense, as you set the AI's skill and aggression in the mission editor.
 
My best guess is , one set controls Ei opps , and the other relates to player formations ,
look at it as a timed reaction response , Easy is delayed , and Hard is fastest ,
with hard you get compounded damage memory , flap damage as an example , trying to land ,
or a wheel that won,t drop down , or a broken rudder that will not compensate for a cross wind ,

easy meaning a slow damage effect you have time to input and correct ,
and hard a faster input on a broken flap , that will spin you in to crash ,
before you can correct it ,
