I often use areas as triggers for events. You are given three options:

1) Enters Are
2) Leaves Area
30 Inside Area

The first two are self explanatory. But does the "Inside Area" trigger randomly when anywhere inside the area?

If it is random then it would seem random percentage event triggers could be made even more random by using the percentage along with a "Inside Area" trigger covered by a large area.

I think it does depend a bit on the type of "event" and whether you have the "repeat actions when true" box checked, so if you enter an area, and there is (for example) a 50% chance of something happening, with the inside area option, recalculated every 10 s would allow the event to repeatedly, possibly happen, and you could probably put in a condition that the event has not already happened, so that it only happens once, if that was required?

I'm not sure if "repeat actions when true" would be necessary. I'm using the area to trigger aircraft spawning. I was just wondering if they would spawn randomly at their assigned way point when you are anywhere inside the area.

the "repeat" would allow them to spawn at a later time, if they did not spawn the first time, woeul be the reason to use it, - so you wouldn't be sure when they would spawn each time you played. Without that box checked, you would have to leave and re-enter the area for the trigger to work again. So no - you don't need it, but that's what it would do.

I See. No I just need it to spawn aircraft once while inside. Bu the question is still is it random. In other words if yo have a two mile wide area, will it trigger the aircraft to spawn at their designated point while you are anywhere along the two mile track through the area?

Ken,

I believe so, but I am more accustomed to using the area markers for altitude and other considerations. As far as spawning inside of an area is concerned, I would imagine they would, but I have never tried it in that fashion. :santahat:

No it won't, unless you check the "repeat" box.

For comparison, the "repeat" if applied to entering an area, will only be triggered by entering. You would have to leave and re-enter for the repeat to work.
