So I've been trying my hand at painting, initially with a paint kit by David Green for the IS4G Mc202. I've done a few different luftwaffe paint schemes. Not accurate historically but I think they could pass as ''Not in the complete realms of fantasy''

Next on the list is a historic repaint, and after that, now I've learnt the basics on paintshop and layers, a different aircraft from scratch

(p.s. I had particular fun using the smudge and push effects to create the weathering, so much that this is one dirty aircraft!)

(p.p.s Ok, This one is pretty much in the fantasy category, but I quite like it)
 
Very nice Ian! :applause:

That is really good for early paint work.....weathering is hard to get right, and that looks about right to me.

May I make a suggestion, that the panel lines are toned down, so close-up they show and further away they quicky disappear.

Indeed you may suggest it! How else am I supposed to learn but from the eye of people who know what they're talking about!!

Do you mean turn down the transparency level on the lines and rivets?? (i.e. a bit like this?)

Also, Very much a WIP (Having real problems with the Cross distorting)(Also the Prop blur is not my own doing, it's something I've grafted on from another plane for the time being, think its a Kelticheart one but could be wrong)

That's increasing the transparency ie making the lines more transparent, and yes looks much better...

If you look at the masters ie Jan Kees, Morton et al, the old saying 'less is definitely more' comes to mind!

D'oh!! Getting my words mixed up again. And I shall certainly bear that in mind. I am a big fan of Morton's work

Just one more little pic of the He-100D. I'd love to get rid of the shine on this model but I can't find a way to do it thats compatible with Win 64

Thanks Shessi! Looks much better without the OTT shine. And if there is a 64bit version on the way that will be brilliant

Two methods (neither perfect)
If you still have a valid license and a copy of your XP CD (or even WIN 95) then you can create a virtual PC using Oracle VM Virtual box
http://www.virtualbox.org/
and then install Ivans MDLC and Mortons Mk_MDLC on the 32 bit operating system

The other choice is to use DosBox
http://www.dosbox.com/
Then you can use MDLC as a command line tool.

Hi Gavin

I don't have the xp copy for the top method. And I've tried the second but it still comes up with the line that it needs to be run on a 32 bit pc.

Is there a specific command I need to use?
