Me 109

paulb

Still here!
When contributing earlier today to another thread, I started to think a bit more about the Me 109 in FSX. I used to fly the 109 a lot in FS2002 and FS9 and loved the aircraft. It is full of character and has a fascinating history.

Now, I have both the Just Flight/AH Me109E from their BoB package and also the Flight 1/Flight Replicas 109 package. Both are OK, and I use the FR one most, despite some frame rate issues on my pc. However neither - as far as I can see - are true FSX aircraft with all of the nice features that FSX can bring. That got me thinking again................

Does anyone know if a top flight (eg at least on a par with the Realair Spitfire Mk IX or similar offering) Me 109 is in the works?

just 1 native FSX 109 at the mo and thats the a2a ww2 fighters one with the patch applied, allthough mike (FR) is doing a native fsx 109k i belive :)

The JF 109 is native, the whole BoB pack was built just recently and is FSX native.

Thanks. But sadly, its the weakest in the pack. The Spitfire and Hurricane have 3D gauges for example, not so with the 109. I could mention other things also. I do like their Hurricane and am quite happy with it. The 109 is not as good overall. I am still searching for a 'great' 109!

I may be wrong, but I thought that their 109 was from the 'old' WOP pack for FS9, updated to work in FSX?

Paul,

There is a free update for the 'old' WOP Bf109-E, which turns it into a native FSX model. You can find this update at the A2A web pages.

Cheers,
Huub

Hi Guys,

Sorry about hijacking your thread Paul, but Mike, will the Reflector gunsight be collimated, as in the A2A birds? It really adds to the sense of immersion because the gunsight is right in front of you.

I stand corrected :)

and as hub said it was updated, can find the patch here http://www.shockwaveproductions.com...&t=11065&sid=0b93d9a70f5015393cc16716119d3f27

You know, I originally purchased the WOP II when it first came out for my FS9. Eventually I upgraded to FSX and searched all over the A2A forums for an 'FSX patch' for these wonderful airframes. I searched and searched and became a little disheartened when I found there was no patches IN THE FS9 FORUMS at A2A. After seeing this, I spent a good hour looking for my DVD only to realize the boxed set was for FS9 and FSX. I've literally kept myself from enjoying these airframes because of my own stupidity. So I must thank stiz for pointing me in the right direction. Ugh.

You'll have to wait and seeeeee..... ;)
