ME262 fly's again

These are new production (reproduction) aircraft built to order. They use modern engines and avionics.

This is really cool, thanks. One word of warning though, seeing as how it's being built in Everett...I hope no one gets the bright idea about putting the Dreamliner's batteries in it. :icon_lol:

Yeah...their you go....dreamliner batteries, and piloted by Bud Abbott and Lou Costello....
 
Last I heard the Collings Foundation has one and the Messerschmitt Foundation has another. Both flying in airshows.
 
I saw an announcement today about the Collings Wings of Freedom Tour. They will be here in Dallas in about 3 weeks with the B-25, B-17, and Mustang and an ME-262. I'm really looking forward to that. Glenn
 
The whole project (initiated by the Texas Airplane Factory, and then moved for completion at Legend Flyers) was to see the re-manufacture of 5 Me-262's - 4 I know have been completed, and I think the 5th, uncomplete example, is for sale (perhaps just fuselage). The three flyers are with the Collings Foundation (White 1), Messerschmitt Foundation (Tango Tango), and Military Aviation Museum (White 3), and the static example is at the Evergreen Aviation Museum (Gelbe 5).

Although there are a few different projects at Legend Flyers, the main one right now is the restoration of an A6M3 Zero to airworthy, complete with an original Sakae 21 engine. You can find Legend Flyers on Facebook, where they have posted a large sum of images of this restoration, providing routine updates.
