Mentor Repaint

Lifejogger,

By all that is Holy, how the Hell did you get the starboard vertical fin to take your paint?

I have an Air Force repaint and there is no way it would take my paint! :banghead: I have written Carenado and had no reply, I have queried here at SOH. The paint for their FAE Mentor paint did not take for Christ's sake. :censored:

I am sure that it is keyed to the outer under wing textures somehow. When I find the :censored: thing (if Carenado doesn't correct it first) I am going to highlight the entire area and copy the area and paste it into a sekected part of the vertical tail that will not take my paint! :banghead::banghead:

The right or starboard tail fin is mapped to the bottom left wing on the aileron. On my repaint the aileron is orange so the right tail fin maps okay.

Well, that does no good for me! But it explains why I do see the orange at the end of the fin tip. Funny that Carenado got it right in the FS9 Mentor, but didn't in the FSX Mentor. I guess I'll shove this paint to the back burner! :banghead:

Carenado owes it to its legion of fans to fix this texture!

You should send them an email and a link to this thread. It really is an easy fix is they still have the source files.

Did exactly that and they have fixed the problem.

To all that have downloaded the FSX T-34 Mentor, go back and download the Mentor .zip again using the email link provided by Carenado (you did save it, didn't you?). The fix is in the new reinstall. If you have addon paints, the re-install will not remove the folders, but you will have to reinsert the aircraft.cfg information for all the repaints.

You can now have that starboard tail free of the unsightly aileron line and rivets now lifejogger. Lovely swabby paint too.
