I had the same idea many months ago and actually introduced Scott and Mathijs, however I don't think anything came of it and I also don't think on this occasion it'll be a problem. This aircraft will require reading manuals

I think it's wrapped around a 3d object and the angle of the shot bends it.

That is a combination of the picture angle and the "plate" on which the line is drawn, which is a 3D and I think dished slightly. Here is an image from the front.

Edit: I was also banking slightly in the shot above.
