• There seems to be an uptick in Political comments in recent months. Those of us who are long time members of the site know that Political and Religious content has been banned for years. Nothing has changed. Please leave all political and religious comments out of the forums.

merging MAW and CFS3/ETO?

ok guys, I know that´s impossible nevertheless, being on the eve of new year, I´d like to wish me something like this: a unique, big theatre of op extending from north sea to pyramids!
to me it sounds good and very practical and to you?

Would it be possible to merge ETO, PTO and MAW?

Either a much larger map or maybe some kind of Global Layer Swapper like the Era Swapper?

PTO would be much sweeter if it encompassed more islands and were possible to switch eras like ETO.:icon_lol:
 
CFS3 limit I'm afraid. Look at the Map in MAW or ETO - each shows as much of the world as can be fitted into a CFS3 theatre. A pity, 'cause I'd like ETO to extend north and make the Banff strike wing ops possible in their proper locations.

So I'd wish for Those Who are Working on the New Theatre problem every success for 2010! :medals:
 
MAW uses about the max in theatre size you can get in CFS3.
That's the downside of the CFS3 sandbox concept as opposed to the FS round earth simulation. The farther you get to the boundaries the more coordinates stretching you get plus parser and whatnot errors.
 
How about conversion of terrain between theatres? The European theatre with PTO textures could double for Burma, Italy in MAW with PTO textures could double for New Guinea, the Dalmatian Coast in MAW with ETO textures and snow would look a bit like Norway. ETO textures in PTO could look like the Aleutians. Obviously not the geographic accuracy of the add-ons, but perhaps useful for mission builders. Prior to MAW a download was released on this website that converted the standard CFS3 European textures to desert, so that is what makes me think this is possible.

PS(But I just downloaded it and took a look and it does look like it would be a lot of work).
