Merlin66 Spit VB Float Repaints

I have two paints nearly done for Merlin66's Spitfire VB float plane. One is just a redo of the original desert camo skin that comes with the plane, but with sharper panel lines and crisper colors and insignia (no MIP MAPPing of the textures). The second is a Dark Green and Medium Sea Gray Camo over Trainer Yellow lower surfaces (based on a few images I found on line of a model of the plane).

Will get them uploaded as soon as I am 100% sure I have everything done on them.

I have the plane installed in FS2004 and am working to get it fully functional in that sim...would not land on water without crashing. Milton Shupe is reworking some things to get the plane to handle better in FS2004. I will be testing some of these tweaks in CFS2 (mainly contact point tweaks). I will include the FS2004 files with the upload for those who want to use the plane in that sim, as well as any tweaks I do for the CFS2 files). And I will figure out how to get float planes to have water sounds when they are taxiing on the water....I figured out how to do it in FS2004 and it really adds a lot of realism to all my float/sea planes.

Done a little tweaking to the Spit float plane and have it set up to begin on the water on not pop into the air. This was achieved by setting the Category for the plane as 2...in the DP [MISC_DATA] section. For some reason, setting float planes as anything other than a 2 will result in them popping into the air when you start the flight with them, setting them as a 2 will result in them starting on the water.

I have tried to get the plane equipped with water sounds for when it is taxiing before take off and after landing...but no success. I even found an old tute written up by MoparMike on adding water sounds to floaters, and even that did not grant any success.

I have added a third paint to the mix....looking at some pics of the 3 Spit Vbs that were converted to float planes, it is clear that they are painted in a solid color...no idea what the color was as the pics are all black and whites. So, I opened up my RAF Color Chart, scrolled down the list looking at the colors, and settled on Dark Mediterranean Blue with Duck Egg Blue under surfaces. Accurate? Don't know. Look good? Yes!

Have also added the yellow ID bands to the leading edges of the Desert Camo and DMB schemes...really gives the planes some visual punch.
