Messerschmitt 262 thread (For Allen)

Shessi and Pstrany,

Not to butt into your conversation, but if either of you dabble in Gmax, I still have the original source files for the Me-262 that is currently in the CFS2 library, and while it is certainly an upgrade over the VB model, the model is definitely rough and could use some refinement.

It would be a hell of a lot better than starting over...

Me 262

Check your PMs. For here, Shessi is talking about a advanced project I had shared with him.

@Rami

If the outside is in good shape it may be worth me ripping the VC from CFS3 and droping it on to the gMax source.

Allen,

Let's continue the discussion in this thread to avoid hijacking Shessi's...

Allen,

Here is the aircraft: http://www.sim-outhouse.com/sohforums/local_links.php?action=jump&catid=54&id=2321

Morton also did a package of repaints for it: http://www.sim-outhouse.com/sohforums/local_links.php?action=jump&catid=59&id=2323

Here is the description: "Multi-lod FsFrance Me-262a "Beta"

This version continues on the conversion work that Morton began for this aircraft. All credit for the multi-lod work on this aircraft belongs to Simon Underwood (Simonu) who has recently renewed his work on this aircraft after a long absence. Subsequent stages of this aircraft will be posted here until the 'Schwalbe' is finalized.

In addition, this would not be possible were it not for the original conversion that Morton did for us, and his cooperation in this release (using his gauges and panel) are very much appreciated.

I have attached the source files. If you feel it's worth a go, you have full blessing to continue improving the model! :applause:

IMO the the polygon count is much too high and the LODs are too. It may be better to start with the CFS3 Me262 if a Me262 is need badly.

Allen,

It actually works fine in missions as is, so if you want to leave it alone, no harm no foul. :wiggle:

Hi Allen,
Actually the CFS3 262 is really not great, shape and detail not that good (although the VC is not too bad,as you say), but there are much better choices about. You did a nice job on the CFS3 Ho229, and obviously you could do the same with the CFS3 262, but if Paul doesn't want to give a sneaky peak of his 262, then if ok I might. It really is superb, and will be fine in CFS2.

Personally I think outside Mike Cyul's Fs9/FSX 262, this is the best looking 262 out there, and externally much much better than even the IL-2 262s.

But more the merrier!

Cheers

Shessi

p.s Thanks for the thought Rami.

Me 262 Project

Hi;

these are screenies of the project mentioned above. Please note that textures are rudimentary (lacks details and weathering) and the cockpit is unfinished. This is an update of Graham (VB Planes) Me 262. The two-seater and Heimatschützer especially need work, but the latter is a real kick to fly.

I've learned a lot from doing the Bf 109G-12 that will help with the Me 262B when I finally get to finishing it. I have actually been working on the 262 from time to time, but lately the 109 has been taking up most of my (rare) spare time....
