Messerschmitt BF109F-2 'Friedrich' set

It's not forgotten, there will also be Bf 109F-4 variants in time. AAAAAchooooo. sniff.
 
I'm looking forward to this one as well! Hoping for a nice variety of skins to go with it. Everyone's work on this project is much appreciated.

Out of curiosity, how far off would early G series variants be from the F-4 model for skinning purposes? Just thinking of how to fill in that currently untouched portion of the 109 line.

For the G-2 at least, the main visible differences are the blanked-off lower canopy quarterlights and the two air scoops on either side of the nose. Rene did a set of special covers for the quarterlights on the old Friedrich, but the idea ground to a halt. Otherwise, the undercarriage bays need to be squared-off rather than rounded, but that's perhaps less important. All the other details such as the fuel filler cap can be pencilled in, so to speak. The G-4 would need a fixed tailwheel and covered-over tailwheel well, larger wheels set at a slightly different angle to the oleo legs, and teardrop bulges on the uppersurfaces of the wings. Again, if necessary, these can be painted in as I did with the stock models. And the aerial connector moved a couple of frames to the rear as well, if you want to be really annoying.

But does anybody have the source file? That would be the obvious course, and shouldn't be too difficult...
 
I do know someone has a Gustav model for working on, but has been daft enough to think the Emil's VC needs a little modification to look like a proper Gustav...
 
Unfortunately, he's right. Even the Friedrich doesn't look the same as the Emil... But I wouldn't let that stand in my way!
 
I think there's been a bit of a hold up as John was waylaid by some kind of nasty infection and I would imagine he's still recovering.
