Meteors Entering Atmosphere over Northwest USA

Hey all,

This is wild. GIGANTIC meteors enter Earths Atmosphere over Northwest USA this morning (pre-dawn). The treks lit up the sky and caused loud multiple sonic booms...

One TV stations outdoor cam was able to capture it. The fireballs were massive in size and lit up the skies.

Very cool, love this kind of stuff and how the earths atomosphere can protect us from fireballs such as this so we do not end up looking like the moon. I was thinking why didn't I see it last night, I live in the NW but it was the Midwest who got the show.

Awesome! Not quite an ELEE (Earth Life Extinction Event, a.k.a. "dinosaur killer") but cool. If you can find some of the pieces, you can make some serious $$$. And if a piece hit somebody's house or car, that person just hit the lottery. Or, to be precise, the lottery hit him!

Sure am glad you posted this, Bill. Was in my kitchen mid-evening last night when the room got noticably brighter for a couple of seconds. Had initially dismissed it as a car's headlights swinging past, as my curtains were drawn in the front room in the direction of the brightening. When it again happened seconds later my first thought was "meteors". Seems that this is what it was.

However...

Upon reviewing this video/news clip several times some odd things are observed. #1: The timing between the 3 events are spaced perfectly evenly. #2: The trajectory of all 3 objects is identical.

Was that a repeating shot of the same meteor?

If it was multiple they all seemed to be on the same track ... :isadizzy:
 
They did say there were several. From the footage on the news cam, I couldnt tell if they were just replaying it or if it had say 2 passes and they were replaying those.

EDIT: It was the North 'Middle' area, not the upper NorthWest... My oops.

..... Time was 10 to 10:15 p.m. MST when they occured. Same one(s)? Got me.
..... Part of the Gamma Viginid meteor shower peak, possibly, the flashes I saw.
..... Gamma virginids takes place from between April 4th and April 21, peaking now.

I saw the massive March 12 1967 fireball that lit up 11 states, and also saw the fireball that lit just outside Kecksberg Pa. that they are still arguing over.

Interesting...

Amazingly, there are many photos of UFO's hovering that were acorn shaped and about that size. I do not think the Russians still yet have a 'acorn shaped Satellite' that can hover 'sideways' in the air.

There is a shot of the Meteor from a squad car now showing on TV. That darn thing was really...... slow descending. BoxCar, I think you are right on it being space junk. Meteors hit the Atmo so hard, they are a quick streak.
