My prayers go out to the the family and loved ones..
I remember seeing footage on YouTube once. A guy's wife made him install an emergency ballistic chute in his homebuilt. So......... One day, he is out flying, climbing out after takeoff, talking into a Mic as he is taping his flight for friends and family, and you suddenly hear a plane engine race by, and a line is in view in front of the window, and bang, destruction, noise, then the horizon is spiraling around the cockpit. He has hit a glider tow cable, the plane crossed his path and he hit the cable, slicing off a wing. He deploys the emergency chute and lives.
Nice to have those ballistic chutes and be able to live through both the accident and the landing.
