Midnight Car-B-Que!

So I'm dead asleep last night when my son comes running into the bedroom shouting that the back fence is on fire! I bolt out of bed, slam on a pair of shoes and run out the back door. Grabbed the hose and headed toward the fire, and realized that it was a car in the alley...and it was going up big time!

Even after being out of the Navy for many years the training kicked in...I got up near the fence but stayed low using the fence as a shield, spraying the backside of the fence and down along the base to keep the fire from getting into the yard. At one point something in the car exploded and at that point I really got worried

After what seemed like forever the pros arrived and got it out. My property damage amounted to some scorched fence. Turned out to be a stolen car (that's a big surprise :banghead:)

These are blurry, but give an idea of what happened...

Damn bro,

Pam emailed me. Glad the property and family are all ok.

Dang...!

Man Robert.

Glad nothing was really damaged that was of high value. That is crazy man. Glad you werent hurt.

The explosions are usually the tires and battery, and as you know already, the fuel tank. But in the front, its usually the tires and battery. They can be deadly so stay clear of the sides of a burning car.

With DeLoreans though, they just implode, due to the time dialation / matter stream delineator... :d No one knows where they go.. Perhaps they all gather on the backside of a black hole somewhere....

theyve found airbag setups explode as well as the battiers and tires...its not often a fuel tank explodes..thats usually on tv..i spent 10 years in the fire department and never saw one fuel tank explode on a car/truck fire...there vented in several ways therefore are prevented from exploding.
