Midway

The missions that Stuart277 recently posted here got me interested in the Battle of Midway again, so I started to look around at what else is available about it.

At first, my plan was to update the old Buffalo mission that has been available for some time with current scenery and airplanes, just for my personal fun. I soon decided to start from scratch, did some research of my own, and ended up with six missions. I did a ferry flight from the Saratoga to Midway, an anti-sub patrol, a mission intercepting a Japanese recce aircraft, ant the intercept of the Japanese raid on June 4 from three different points of view.

Now I thought I could as well share the work with you, so I uploaded it. If we can convince Rami to approve them, the missions can be downloaded soon.

Have fun!

Thanks for the effort Skylane.

Several years ago I made a mission for one of our members who requested it. It's was MAJ Henderson's attack from Midway against the Kido Butai. It should be here in the library. As most of you know, the Major was KIA in this action and Henderson Field on Guadalcanal was named after him.

VMSB 241 at Midway
Fly as a member of Major Henderson's VMSB-241 dive bomber squadron from Midway on June 4, 1942 in an attempt to stop the Imperial Japanese Navy from invading Midway Island. This is a historically correct mission depicting VMSB-241's attack in the early morning hours of June 4th prior to the main US Navy attack that changed the fortunes of US forces in the Pacific. This mission uses all stock MS CFS 2 objects and planes other than the B-24 Guy's updated SBD-2 Dauntles which is available here in the CFS 2 library.
