Mig-29 for FSX Accel

Hi Cag. Indeed the Mig-29 is my next project, specifically the G model (which is a Luftwaffe modified A model) to start, and possibly others. Whether I will have a carrier capable K model or not as well, it's too early to say, but it's on my options list for later. I haven't made a unique post about it or anything because I am rather self conscious about promoting my stuff in public, I really prefer not to hehe. Also after 10 years of working in mainstream game development I've become very wary of showing "work in progress" stuff at all, it always tended to cause more problems than it solved, which is why the L-39's development was a very quiet affair publicity wise.

Anyway, long story short, I hope to have it done by the end of the year, but there are so many new things I have to learn in order to pull it off that it's hard to say at this point how long it will ultimately take. It's a challenging and fun endeavour so far though, and the MiG-29's shape is something I certainly never tire of looking at, an essential element considering I'll be looking at that one thing day in day out for a long time to come. :)

Cheers.

Ian: UV mapping is the *worst* punishment possible, don't be hard on yourself. It's the one phase of building a plane that I truly and utterly dread. The tedium.... :)

Thanks Mike!

Mike that's fantastic!! Having a FSX Mig-29 with the qualities of your talent would be HUGE!!!:applause:

Also, didn't IRIS do a detailed Mig-29? (just checked. . .they did a standard Fulcrum as well as a Naval version, but both are FS9 model)

Iris did two sets of migs, both for FS9.. The first set, which was based on standard russian airforce aircraft, doesnt run so well in fsx, but the second set, the Navy migs, flys beautifully. Iris also did the Flogger, which flies ok in fsx as well, but again it's an fs9 model. At this time, i know of no plans to update any of them for fsx..
