Military Sim: ARMA II + Track IR

pretty cool game, got about 4 hours in it now. I am having fun in the Armory, especially after unlocking all the weapons. Tooling around in the A-10 blasting villages is great fun even though the flight modeling needs work as well as the damage modeling.

Is there a mode where you can just explore with other people around?

Tried a couple of the missions, but got waxed pretty quick (note to self, practice!!)

Wasn't Operation Flashpoint the grandaddy of ARMA?

yup, the line up is :-

Operation FlashPoint
Armed Assault
Arma2

not one where you can roam about with other people, you have the editor where you can place what you want and wander round.

Trivia for ya ... what does arma actually stand for? :mixedsmi:

Oh cool, just saw the editor, this is going to be fun. I just found out if you kill enough civilians, your team mates take command and kill you, LOL.

isn't ARMA for Armed Assault?

nope ..

The word 'Arma' is Latin in origin; a multifaceted word that depending on context can be used to mean defensive arms, shields, soldiers or weapons of war amongst others.

the armed assault bit came from the fact that in north america the 2 game (arma1) was called Arma:Armed Assault, whereas everywhere else it was Arma:Combat Operations, so people put 2 and 2 together and got 5, but it stuck so :engel016:
