Milviz F-15E «Tiger Lead»

I might add on the tanker bit that those who are skiddish need not be intimidated as there are 2 modes for the tanker. There is a regular mode (which is easier), and a pro mode which requires a lot more precision flying (the box you fly in is smaller). As Colin said though this is but a small part of the overall package. I am not precise enough of a flyer yet to tank though which is why there are no screens of it from me. :icon_lol:

I only have SP2 and no acceleration, how much will I miss out on?

Not interested in firing missiles as there is other sims for combat.

I am after a : start up - take off - fly - land - shut down in as much detail as possible.

Startups and shutdowns are done as per the TO. As for the rest of the flight....well lets see....well theres always the navigation system :d . Right now im working on the steerpoint entry/editing and trying to find a way to support multiple flightplan routes just like the real jet does. That however is a tricky b&^*ard to code. However Aim and Offset steerpoints are supported. Offset steerpoints are basically steerpoints that are offset by distance and bearing from a particular steerpoint. The Tactical Situation display is also being dealt with to cover this. As for navigation modes....there are 5 modes supported. NAV, GT, TCN, ILSNAV, ILSTCN. NAV is your main mode and steers you through the steerpoints on your flightplan. TCN....no brainer its for TACAN navigation. GT is ground track and if you have cross winds the steering cues on the HUD and MFD will guide you to hold the right heading to maintain a particular ground track regardless of drift. ILSNAV and ILSTCN are basically the same except ILSN displays ILS data and selected steerpoint data while ILST displays extra TACAN data instead of steerpoint.

So....all in all you will be well equipped to go anywhere in this baby in the same way that the real bird does.

Sold.. will buy on release providing it is less than 80 bucks, that is my cut off for all addons.

Do you guys take other payments than paypal cause my wife has taken over that account so I'm down to straight credit card.

Looks great... One question. Is the multi sorted out? Im strictly a multi flyer for most part. I love the T38, but was surprised to find out there was a issue. With that said I only buy birds that work in both single and multi.

Just for the sake of clarification, the multi-player issues have been fixed and will be included in the forthcoming service release, along with a number of other minor issues, and a host of improvements... :icon_lol:

Thx for the heads up.. Looking forward to the 1st SP...

Creeps..

Colin,

What are the chances it will work with the VRS Tac Pack and FSX@War mod coming out soon? This one will be bought for sure, as I miss my Janes Strike Eagle III from the old DOS and early Windows days.

Hmmmm, scratching my head and manipulating the grey matter.....and reading the VRS forums. Perhaps, and this would be strictly coincidental, your release is pending the release of the VRS TacPack....that would make my millenium.

It is not the TacPac we are waiting on for release. In fact the end release will not have native support for it (I haven't even seen the TacPac as I have been waiting on it myself for their F/A-18E that is in my FSX hangar). We have our own weapons system that was developed in house, and that will be with the F-15E... From reading VRS Forums over the last few months they will support other aircraft, but you will need to modify the MFD's, weapons stations, and such to support this.

FSX @ war though I am unsure as I am unfamiliar with this product. So I will go with Colin's answer of no comment at this time until I do further research. If anything other than our coding is supported though it will most likely come after the release in the form of a SP. We will not hold the F-15 release up for any external software that is coming, so don't have to worry about that.

Larry Zambrano and I are still working furiously on the navigation system as it is the most complex part aside from the weapon system. Also the FDEs for the missiles are pretty damn tricky as FSX does not support rocket engines so we are working hard to get their performance correct. No Super missiles allowed unless they are AIM-54s :icon_lol:.

So it will be released when it is ready. No sooner, no later.

Steve,

Thanks for the reply...just generating an info op for the potentials of all the upcoming warbirds with interactive weaponry and the FSX@war add on to accompany the VRS release of the Tac Pack.

Here's the link to FSX@War: http://fsxwar.net/

I think it's a fantastic idea and not to beat the war drums, but between you guys, VRS, Razbam and others with their fantastic modern warbirds collection, droppable/deliverable ordinance and the graphic splendor of FSX, I can't wait.

Naruto, Steve and Colin, First off, thanks for what you do within the limitations of an aging code and giving us some fantastic warbirds.

Will the RADAR works as it does in the actual bird, with terrain following and mapping modes?

Matt

I think I will hand over the weapon system abilities to Chris Dub....since he is the creator of it....Chris? I know you are out there somewhere....where are you?
