Milviz F-15E latest paint job

I will start the F-15E paint work very soon :icon_lol:
(... and certainly keep an eye on the base colors :icon_eek:)

Dag: Jeg kan ha behov for din ekspertise :salute:

These screen shots do tend to make the plane look too dark, but then that's the way screen shots work sometimes. When looking at the model in-game and close up, the texture work is fantastic and doesn't appear to be as dark.

I do think it would be nice to have a texture set that is much lighter, though....which it appears that Gunnar/Skyhawk18 is going to be doing, from the way his post reads between the lines.

Awesome shot with the tanker Bone. Unfortunately I get too tense and start jerking around when i get up to the tanker....For some reason im more comfortable pulling my wing a foot behind another 15 or 16...Maybe its because she is bigger and above me.....kinda intimidating

I guess rather than go with reality, I will have to go with illusion. :salute:

In fairness, I live fairly close to Lakenheath and have seen first hand their brand new F-15E's arriving over the years fresh from the factory as replacements - for some reason my reality seems to not be yours?

I have not seen one photograph that shows the F-15E as being that dark, leaving out some Nellis shots that have contrast overload due to the bright sunshine which tends to make any colour darker when photographing it.

Still there will be a paintkit so we can correct this.

There does appear to be two distinct colors of grey, I'm not taking sides here just an observation of what I've seen at Mildenhall, the weather also has an effect on the hue, clear skies produce a lighter color but there is a difference, the lighter seems more common from my observations. Aerial shots are hard to get accurate tones from due to gamma changes from the exposure, but these two do show a marked difference.

I personally think the current Milviz one is a little too dark, but accept that could be down to users screen set ups etc and screen shots which can be misleading. This is one of the problems of producing a product suitable for a vast array of platforms, for some it'll be too dark, for others just right. Note also that aircraft, especially matt finished ones, fade very quickly, weather changes paint like nothing else can.

It will be changed up to a lighter color before release. No worries. Plus, Gunnar will be doing some nice paints himself... this will only add to the array of liveries...

So....... what sort of neat features will the F-15 have besides two shades of grey? I have a feeling that you guys can do some amazing coding that will impress us much more than colors will (although the paints do look beautiful).

I will not go into details, as we are very deep in development with the F-15E.. Although right now we do have working avionics. I personally cannot wait to take the lid off of the stuff we have been doing with it. Once the T-38A is out the door you will start to see more information coming on the F-15. It will have a lot more than just 2 paint jobs though. :icon_lol:

Paint difference

F-15Cs adopted somewhat of a Raptor paint scheme that is no doubt lighter than the Mudhens.

The C always had a lighter schema... We have three liveries done for the C including the Aggressors, a standard all over light gull grey and the two tone light blue on light gull grey (nose color excepted).

The E liveries will be done by... Gunnar!!!!

More info soon....
