Milviz F-4E Phantom II

Did the F-4E/EJ/F/J actually have AoA tone?
Surely that was more applicable to the USN/USMC variants.

??? The AoA tone is needed for maneuvering so every version needs to have it not only the Navy versions.
Without the various tones, maneuvering is much more difficult and of course the Milviz F-4 will have them.

Early in the process of the build and variant discussions amongst the modelers and beta team members, I made a plea for a clean version with particular external details for a Thunderbirds specific version. Most of the T-Bird F-4E's were earlier block E models with Hard Wings but I have seen a couple of photos of T-Bird F-4E's with the later Slat changes. Assuming there will still be both wing variations in the package, the bases will be covered. Maybe Diego can clarify that for us.

My feeling is that if you ever saw a Thunderbirds F-4E with slats it was photographed years after they switched to the T-38. Probably a museum piece with a new paintjob. A bit of artistic license like we see in FS repaints from time to time.

From http://www.f-4.nl/f4_11.html:

The first production F-4E to be fitted with slats was 71-0237, but the first to actually fly with slats was 71-0238 which made its maiden flight on February 11, 1972. The addition of these slats greatly enhanced the maneuvering performance, and the USAF decided to retrofit earlier F-4Es with these slats. The USAF ordered the first slat modification kits in April of 1972, and the first retrofitted F-4E (serial number 69-7524) flew on September 28, 1972. 304 earlier production block F-4Es were retrofitted with these slats, which included just about every surviving F-4E except for those serving with the Thunderbirds.

You did it again Frank. Thread killer par excellence. Shouldn't you carry a government warning? 'Licensed to Kill' perhaps.:jump: :running:

FYI- Got this message when going to the .nl site. Could be a false positive, I'll check it later with my "needs to be in the landfill" laptop.
