not sure which variant the posters were discussing when there were questions about the nose and canopy....this screenshot is pretty squarely a juliett. the cloud9 is a delta.

Erm .. the C9 version is an E ... anyway ....
The discussion was not around which variants - it was around
1) the size/height/projection of the canopy relative to the size of the aircraft, and
2) the width/profile of the nose
This was all prior to the revelation that there would be any model apart from the E, so all of that was in relation to how it was perceived the E had been modeled.
For what it's worth, while I never did quite see the issue around point 2), I certainly did see where some of the concern around point 1). To wit, the "J" model pictured here seems to exhibit a rather pronounced size of canopy relative to the size of the aircraft. I'll give Milviz the benefit of the doubt that it's either my eyes - or that it's still WIP. It's obnoxious berating devs when they preview their work, so I'll clarify it's only "an observation".
I should say, I'm very stoked at the prospect of a naval F-4. The R would have been nice, but a J will get lots of mileage in realistic USN, USMC, RAF schemes - and by squinting a bit, as a fictional stand-in for any of the earlier "big-nose" (B,C,D,N,S) operators - USN, USMC, USAF, RN FAA, Iran, and Spain. So - good on you for recognizing that potential.
Something else for the Milviz team to consider - formation lights. I can't tell if they're modeled ("cut in") or painted on from the screenshot. If they're painted, well, that's easy enough to fix. If they're modeled, then there's a bit of an accuracy problem. The J never came with them from the factory (produced from '66 to about '72). Only when the F-4S upgrades came about (early 80s) did these get retrofitted at NARF North Island.
So to model them in would make for a very restrictive realism period (the mid 80s) - as where I believe the big naval/big nose Phantom interest lies spans a broader period - really from the B of the early 60s, through the Viet Nam war, through the colourful 70s, and then through to the end of the Phantom's active life.
So my suggestion would be one of either
1) offer a true "J" model only - no formation lights
2) offer both the J (no lights) and an S - with the lights, as shown above. The advantage of that is you've already done the work (if indeed already cut), and now you have a platform for not only the very late period USN/USMC TPS (tactical paint scheme) repaints - but also for any of the later period RAF repaints that may materialize.
My premise is that there's commercial value to Milviz to accommodate a wide appeal/repaint potential - hence why the E was the initial model - so theoretically, by taking into account this recommendation, you're covering (to various degrees of accuracy) the entire breadth of the Phantom line with the obvious exception of the RF and Spey-engined FG models.
Thoughts?

PS - the reheat/AB petals, as well as the metalwork in behind looks absolutely stunning. Bravo!
