Milviz F-4E Phantom II

We are talking about the pylons.

Yellow bits removed form the pylons. I wanted to ask you if there was a preferred encoding for these liveries. In the paint kit, texture.1 is in DXT5 while texture.2 is in DTX1 (and thus when zipped up is only half the size). Is there a preference when submitting these to MilViz?

AB anyone!!!

Possible AB effects for the Milviz F-4...

You can start painting today. The external model and paintkit are available just for painting, and as you see people are already producing very nice repaints. Check a few posts back about how to get it.

As for the whole plane, all I can say as a humble tester so far is that it flies like a dream!

Thanks ! Time to paint !!! VF-31 & VF-114 will be out soon . Will post here and at our website @ FSX Miramar Flight Club.

USS Midway

Seem to be obsessed with the USS Midway. Here is the VF-161.

Great work! :ernaehrung004:

Good to see that there are a lot of talented painters in here...
I am going to make a couple of liveries for the F-4J before I turn my focus to the "E" again. I really hope that you will make a lot of liveries for the S/J. Working on this one now....

Awesome! I think there were stripes on the fuel tanks also.....I will look for a picture

Lovin' the Midway paints Tom, although I do have to give some constructive criticism... your NAVY markings at the rear of the fuselage are too small and in non-bold font. :) Otherwise I love them, great work on the details.

Thanks for the help, I left em as they were in the paint kit. Should have known they needed to be larger from looking at the photos. Off to make the change. Appreciate anything else that is needed to make perfect.

Hope this is better!!

:adoration:

Spark ring ignition... left: initial flame, right: progressing to full ignition as it travels down the tube.

Hey Tom - looks sweet!!! I had just posted this shot in another thread - love the transitional/late Phantom schemes...

Just a couple of little observations - again, just a bit of that "modeller's" eye, if you're after realism.

  • The rear "NAVY" and carrier text looks too small and too far aft - look how in the pic, the Y is under the grey walk strip - and in yours, it hasn't reached it yet.

  • The Modex is also too far aft - should be above the cooling intake. Font size looks good.

  • VF-161 looks too small - though it looks bolded, so that's good.

  • The dark grey trim around the rear canopy extends aft to cover the whole of the rear cockpit fairing "bubble" - it's just on the canopy on the repaint.

Flash, colours, everything else looks good. A lovely repaint, that will get used, once the model arrives.

Thanks so much,

DL

Loving the paints coming out....Could I add a request for VF-201 Hunters?
