Milviz F-86F-30 Sabre - Released

I mean that when you have a engine flame out the aircraft won't loose speed.

Anyway no problem , i know the engine restart procedure after flameout and works fine.

Tks

That is precisely what I tested. I had an engine flameout, and was able to reduce my speed by either climbing, pulling G's, or using the speed brakes.

I am awaiting the testers to confirm what I have experienced.

Regards, Diego

Diego, i think Andrea was meaning that if you have a flameout, the speed, without engine's propulsion, should decrease quickly.
I've experienced my first flameout few minutes ago, and the speed didn't decrease at all, unless i touched the airbrakes...

Would think the speed brakes shouldn't extend with the engine out (they may have had an accumulator back-up, have to dig in the real life manual).. However that should reduce your speed. Even though the F-86 is a very aerodynamically slick bird it should definately decelerate with an engine out as you always create drag when you create lift. I will have to look at it on my system and will post my findings in the dev forum, and we will see what the other testers have to say like Diego stated.

Other than that cool video with the engine flame out. I am usually freaking out in those situations so never really any time to enjoy it. You definately were cutting it close there as I could see the bushes on the ground. Got to live on the edge every once and awhile though I suppose. :icon_lol:

You are correct. We will be looking in to this. I think there was some misunderstanding on both parts.. You guys are right though. Like my post above the moment you lose propulsion it would immediately start bleeding off speed in straight and level flight. I still have to take a look on my system, but if it is not losing speed we will get it fixed.

When I had a flameout, it definitely bled speed, just not quickly. I had time to do several turns and hunt for clear ground, but I was losing altitude the whole time, and also speed. I didn't notice how high I was at flameout. Probably at least 10,000, over Yellowstone, so 3000 or more AGL. I was surprised that I was able to glide as long as I was able to, but several people have commented so far about the nice glide ratio of this clean bird.

I had a friend stop by to check out the Sabre , as i pointed out the small issues , stick jammed to the left and i could not even remove the pilot .. only small problems , Installed the Bare Aluminum paint , some reason those to issues have corrected themselves , not sure why ? .. strange tho the paint did not show up nor was in the config file a bare aluminum paint , good thing it fixed and tweeked it so i recommend installed that recent released file to all .<input id="gwProxy" type="hidden"><input jscode="leoInternalChangeDone()" onclick="if(typeof(jsCall)=='function'){jsCall();}else{setTimeout('jsCall()',500);}" id="jsProxy" type="hidden">

I am seeing some great repaints here... in addition to the lovely set to be released...

Are they posted here in the repaints section? Particularly like the Luftwaffe variant by Zsoltquack... I would really like that one!

mine are all on OZx

i think a few pilots in Korea liked that part lol

I also had a flameout at around 6000 feet while doing something stupid and there was a very noticeable decrease in speed, but not like most other aircraft where it instantly detectable.

:salute: Zsolt...that looks awesome! :applause:
Please....please make it available somewhere...!
Can't wait to hop in and buzz off...

BTW...tried to find a logo of "Waffenschule der Luftwaffe 10" of the time they used the F-86...but couldn't.
At the Air Base I work at during Reserve Duty, they have a F-86 on Stick...she still is a beauty!

Ahhhh .... thank you!
There was no such old JaboG 38 emblem!
Today change up!
Thanks for the help!

Zsolt, please don't take this the wrong way...:wavey:
I admire your work...you are such a gifted painter!
Just wanted to help a bit...the Logo above shows the silhouettes of the later used F-104G...during the late 1950s the logo sported the silhouettes of the then used F-86.

Oh boy...I hope I am not making a fool out of me.

Sorry Zsolt...I'll shut up now. :kilroy:

It's simply impossible to fly straight and level without thrust and to be able to maintain speed.
That's not even the case with the engine at idle thrust.

Again, the L/D ratio is correct. The manual does have a table for the optimum engine out gliding speed and the resulting distance. It' the same for the Milviz F-86. There's nothing wrong so it can't be fixed.

Idle thrust is very weak and so is the windmilling drag. The difference between idle and engine out glide is very small.

:jump:
That is one very tasty looking Sabre!
Great work Zsolt! :applause::applause::applause:

I was born in the wrong year...in the 1950s ist was still possible for a Sgt to become a fighterpilot in the early Bundesluftwaffe...:engel016:
That would have been fun.

That's a beautiful repaint, Zsolt:applause:. IMHO, the blue in the badge is a bit too "strong" now. I think it should be a bit lighter, more like the colour you had in the earlier preview pic.
