Hello jocko417,

I really want this "Black Knight" Skin. I live at the near of the RCAF Station Söllingen, now it's named Baden-Airport or Karlsruhe / Baden-Baden for civilian-traffic - it's included at FSX...

Yeah, I'm using a 3rd-party 4 Wing scenery that's probably more of an eighties-era version than a fifties one.

My uncle was the squadron commander for 439 until around '86, the last CO of the Starfighter era at 439 before they stood down and switched to the Hornet. He flew Sabres at Zwei with 427 on his first posting, early 1960s.

4 Wing Sabres were some of the least photographed in the fifties, I have shots of a 422 bird I'm planning to skin but none of 444 in bare metal, but I can do a camo version later. Sky Lancers will lead the camo schemes. :)

Mk.5 camo scheme pictures are rare/short-lived as 1 Air Div was reequipped with the Mk.6 soon after camo paint was adopted in 4ATAF. The first few Mk.6s had the hard wing so I can do some of those, however, and the RAF used a lot of hard edged Mk.4s so there are lots of camo possibilities. The Luftwaffe is also an option of course but there have already been some great repaints made so I think I'll leave them to others as LW history is not really my area of "expertise" :)

Making progress

Thanks to Fleurdelys for great help with reference material for the Luftwaffe Sabre. Not quite finished yet, but it shouldn't take too long now.

I enjoy this topic. The F-86 is a real nicely done model in every way. The textures make it really shine as it should. Tips his hat to all involved.

That 4 tank config was hardly used since it really turns the Sabre into a brick snail...You MAY have gotten away with it if i didnt implement dynamic drag ;)

That 4-tank config was used by the RNoAF a lot in later years, with the slatted long wing.

Best
Dag

great reviews.

on the f86, how does it compare with section f8's f86? i recently installed f8's version on fsx and it's awsome. only complaint is gauge lighting at night, otherwise it's payware quality and flies great.

mv's f86 looks great, need to put on xmas list along with their upcoming ah-1w and b407...

Support issues

I don't specifically see a 'Support' titled forum within MILVIZ except for Welcome to the aircraft trouble shooting forum! under Completed Milviz Projects there and this post was the only one there.

I see a lot of posts here at Sim Outhouse on his plane and will post here as well.

I noticed that this plane starts readily and more efficiently with the throttle advanced to the fuel flow position.

My current issue is that the front gear door does not retract after the gear comes up. I have reinstalled the A/C and this does not fix the issue.

fragmentum, on the Milviz site you will see Forum. Once there you see Completed Milviz Projects. Under Completed Milviz Projects you will find two topics related to the F-86, General and Support.

Seems I saw your issue once when trying to record using FS Recorder.

Hope you find an answer.

Fragmentum I have taken the liberty to add your Milviz account to the F-86 support forum. So you need to log in and post your issue over on our forum here: http://www.milviz.com/forum/viewforum.php?f=70 . Is weird that the landing gear sequence won't finish.. In real life it would be something as simple as a sequencing valve.. Who knows what is causing it in FSX, but we will get it fixed for you!

Thanks

I had registered for access to the forums but did not realize I needed yet additional access permission to see/use/post the North American F-86 Support Forum

Thanks

Don
