**sorry my other poat got lost in the F86A thread and I didnt want to highjack yhat one...

The spit shine has started....still tweaking alphas ..metal effects...here we come! you can see the difference between the drop tanks (previous metal look) and the ability to use alpha and specular together....what a difference it makes on this sweet paint scheme... Specs are too bright...noted already...in fact I've changed much since these scenes already...but she's almost here!

Just out of curiosity, is the model recompiled with the alpha values added etc ?

Hi,

We are in the process of getting the MV F-86F-30 tested for full Tacpack compatibility. While doing that, the decision was made to "redo" the materials such that a super shine could be had. We are, when the shine is ready, going to send out a version for existing customers as well as the vendors. No other changes will be made.

As soon as testing is complete on the Tacpack, we will be releasing that as an upgrade for our existing customer base. The cost of said upgrade will be $9.99. The Tacpack version will have the shine built in.

Thank you.

Kat.

I'll have to wait till I die ..... that's how artist's make their millions :biggrin-new: then buy the upgrade .... 'GAWD I'm good' .... 6.00AM NZ and still think off the crazy jokes, there are a few that TACPAC is really starting to shine .. Chrissy prezz I thinks .

Reading that hairyspin.. you won't have to buy the TP version to get the shine:encouragement:

I hope the shine is an option in the tacpac. The chrome look is good for airshow birds but it doesn't give the feel of an operational bird.

Can not wait! Love this aircraft:applause: This will be the first aircraft I jump into when I can use me right arm again.

The new materials won't change any of the currently available repaints. It simply adds the ability to produce dynamically lighted surfaces via the gfx engine and the appropriate texture functionality. So any of the previous paints or repaints won't change at all since non of them have an alpha channel called out. This model will also use fresnel. So the birds you want to be reflective will be; while the ones you want to have dull and used looks yet still have certain surfaces or panels remain reflective can be. Should please everyone.

This image by Max Haynes popped-up on Facebook yesterday, and made me think of this project.

And some more inspiration...

(As I'm sure you guys are very well aware, most of the wing surface (and often times horizontal tail surfaces as well) are painted silver on these aircraft, despite the bare/polished metal of the fuselage/tail, which always provides for a unique contrast/study between the look of silver paint and the look of bare polished metal.)
