I remain confused.. and not for the first time:mixed-smiley-027: But fear not.. I'm sure you'll be more than happy with whatever you end up with:very_drunk: I'll certainly be happy with the non-TP shiny version:encouragement:

Rick, I think you are the current reigning metal master. Great stuff. However, I think that Sabre for now is still a bit too shiny. I suppose this comes down to your PC and personal taste, but that still looks a little "over gunned" IMHO. Perhaps it will look less so when you put some markings on her.

Again, premium work here mate.

I understand these are all WIP shots and you obviously know the ins and outs of painting. . .great job. I did notice something that caught my eye, "if" this aircraft, in polished aluminum was owned by an individual (or group) and it flew on a regular basis (or even if it was relegated to a static display somewhere), you would never. . .ever. . .see oil dripping out of an access door. No self respecting aircraft owner who paid what a person would pay for an aircraft like this would allow the airplane to roll out of the hangar with oil or fuel stains drooling down the polished aluminum skin. Other than that. . . .looks awesome.

Yeah I'm working on the alpha...I've been having a terrible time trying to eliminate a texture seam. I'm not trying to go for the super polished look with this one anyway. As John pointed out, those jets are actually painted with silver and polished to achieve the high reflection. At any rate the ability to make the textures more lifelike is the goal of the material change. I'm actually not going to put any other markings on this one. this could serve as a base if someone wished or you can still use the paint kit...which you'd have to add custom alphas too anyway.

Maybe the owner got in a little over his head and is now having trouble making payments on his mortgage...so he said...I'll clean her tomorrow! ;) No worries good catch...oil removed.

I started from scratch a second time...which yielded 2 variations...used metal and polished aluminum....still working on the high polish warbird version. The used version should yield some good paints with a splash of color.

WOW !! The "used metal" has to be one of the most realistic-looking repaint I've ever seen :dizzy:

Thanks gentlemen. I'm pleased with the results as well. I really want to see a particular paint on the used version...so I may try and do that one as well. We shall see if time permits.
