I recently installed the Milviz Red Bull P-38 and wonder if I have some install problems. I can't seem to control the S-TEC AP the way I would expect. You should be able to individually activate any of it's four modes (ST, HD, TRK Low and TRK Hi), along with Altitude Hold, but I find ST goes on with Track Low, the AP automatically switches from Track Low to Track Hi when you switch from NAV to GPS; the ST, HDG and Track Low lights can be on at the same time, I can't turn off ALT Hold without turning off the AP completely, etc. I could not find any info on how Milviz programmed the operation of the S-TEC -- in others words, what I should expect compared to the actual S-TEC operation manual. The same AP is in the A2A Cherokee so I have some experience with how it should work, but that could vary with a given developer's implementation.
I've also noticed that sometimes when switching between NAV and GPS, the back lighted NAV/GPS switch on the instrument panel lights up indicating the mode, and then a minute later it doesn't -- seems strange.
Milviz says you need FSX Acceleration or Steam for this a/c. I have FSX+SP2 which I thought was about the same as FSX Acceleration, and Steam. I see the same behavior in both sims, and have tried repeated installs. If anyone with this a/c can shed some light on these issues I would appreciate it.
Thx,
Al
