Just so you know, that's not in FSX... that's an animation that we did about 8 years ago.

Pretty cool!

The only thing I see that looked awkward was the fact that the hook wasnt pulled out straight after it caught the wire. If you watch any carrier landing, immediately after the hook catches a wire, its yanked out into the stowed position. Once the plane comes to a stop and the tension on the cable is released, they lower the hook to drop the cable.

But the approach part of the footage looks good and fluid. Very impressive for 8 years ago!
