Missing cockpit and front guns glass on Ted's TOW Lancs

mongoose

SOH-CM-2026
Threedp has rightly noticed that all but Lanc OFX have no cockpit and front guns glass; something I've not noticed really as flying at night. However it would be great if they all had glass. I have a feeling that either Andy, John, Steve or Dan might have ideas on how to fix that??

I have the source file for Teds DX A lancaster and it has all the glass.

However I don't have the time (or inclination) to do anything with it at the moment.

If anyone else does though, and we have a consensus that it would be ok to do so, I can forward it

Cheers,
Clive

Fine by me!
Could be wrong, but wasn't this originally a model made by Mathias Pommerien?

If john would do it, that would be great. I take it that each aircraft has to be done separately? If so, is a list needed?

Well I guess since I am even worse than John claims to be, we are out of luck, at least for now., unless one of the m3d files reveals an answer.

Not expect you to do anything on that but just interested to know if the glass is expressed in the m3d file(s) or in the texture file?

Glass can only be created in the m3d. Textures can be applied to glass, but the surface must first exist in the m3d.

So could I take the DX A m3ds and rework them using different texture.ddses and rename the new m3d to match the new textures? Basically somewhat like making new standalones.

I'm not sure I follow you James. This doesn't make sense to me.
Well I use the DX A m3d file, TOW_Lancaster_B3_DXA.m3d, rename it to say, TOW_Lan_3_ARG, change the relevant dds files in that renamed file to match TOW_Lan_3_ARG, ie lancaster_mk3_ARG_t.dds and lancaster_mk3_ARG_s.dds, but all the other aspexts of the new TOW_Lan_3_ARG,m3d stay the same as TOW_Lancaster_B3_DXA.m3d. In other words similar to making a new stand alone ac but based on the DXA model.

Yes! So I took the KM B m3d, renamed it the LE C m3d, changed the t and s dds files to LE C and then glass appeared!

So now already added pit glass to KEC SRW, YZC, KOJ, DXA, DXF more to do

James can you send me a version with the glass please, I don't have it in any of my installs.
I'll need to check if its the same model and the skins fit properly, Ted did change the mapping a few times.
