Missions not appearing

highpockets

SOH-CM-2025
I guess I am having serious senior moments. I attempted to install Rami's 357th missions and they are not showing up when I load ETO and select missions, American. They are in the missions folder and A/C are there. What have I missed??

Highpockets,

Best guess...you don't have the expanded country.cfg installed. You can find it here.

http://www.microsoft.com/games/combatfs2/articles_SDK_countryfile.aspx

The missions are not under the country allegiance 3, (US Navy) they're under country allegiance 7, the US Army Air Corps.

I kinda had the same problem awhile back. I scrolled down the nationalities and found "American" listed again further on down the list. I clicked on that one and there the mission was! Hope this helps.

In my county cfg I have Britain, Germany and Japan listed twice! Also have Russia once & USA :

[country.7]
name=US Army Corps
short_name=USA
nationality=American USAAC

[country.3]
name=USA
short_name=USA
nationality=American

What now? Should I delete the duplicates and if I delete USA country 3 will any futher American missions work?
By the way, I only have one "American" in the single missions selection.

Country File

Highpockets,

Modifying a country file should be done very carefully. There are many nuances to it and it can negatively impact several features of CFS 2 if not done properly.

The currently accepted country file lists a couple of countries twice. Usually they are defined as army or navy airforces as in your example above. It works fine that way as the mission file points to the proper one

Example from the mission file:

[unit.0]
id=9078
type_id=3816
name=%name_string.0%
allegiance=3 <<< The allegiance directs the mission or campaign to cary this airplanes as an American plane via the "country file"
skill=3
aggression=2
payload=0

[unit.0]
id=9078
type_id=3816
name=%name_string.0%
allegiance=7 << This would load the plane as a "US Army Air Force" plane from the USA via the country file
skill=3
aggression=2
payload=0

I was trying to follow Rami's instructions in his 357th Group missions..I have added missions before,but for some reason these are not showing up. Is there any written guides on the interplay of the mission, country file arrangnement , etc? I did no changes in the mission file itself and the allegiance does show up as #7 in the 357th mission file.
I am surely confused and hate to be such a dummy.:kilroy:

highpockets,

Yep....except the OstFront. I replace Canada (country.18) with the Normandie-Niemen.
